Conversations About Town During the Dark of the Moon in Gemini

I was running errands this afternoon and noted that we were in the Dark of the Moon in Gemini. The Sun and Moon will come together in a New Moon annular ("ring of fire") solar eclipse at 19 degrees Gemini on June 10 (3:52 a.m. Pacific). This eclipse forms a conjunction to Mercury Rx in Gemini and a square to Neptune in Pisces.

Dark of the Moon periods can be very potent as far as fated events. In the sign of Gemini, this could involve a fated crossing of paths, fated connections, and fated conversations or interactions, particularly involving "dark" subject matter or suppressed or hidden perspectives. In Gemini, these events could be relatively quick and light, occurring as we go about our daily business. The backdrop of the local neighbourhood or local businesses would be fitting. And since we're in the midst of eclipse season, this Dark of the Moon period in Gemini could produce more potent or meaningful contacts than usual.

This is an illustration of the themes as I experienced them under the Balsamic Moon in Gemini:

I was the only person in Safeway grocery store without a mask today. A woman (masked) who was in the checkout line ahead of me with her elderly mother (also masked) said, "Good for you!" and tugged at her mask to indicate what she was referring to as she walked out. I laughed and thanked her. (Then I mumbled that it was a medical exemption lest the  masked cashier disapprove of our exchange.)

As I was sitting at the bus stop (more Gemini) with my groceries, an elderly woman walked up to the bus bench with her own bags. I asked if she minded me sitting beside her (unmasked). She didn't. She asked if I minded if she kept her mask off. I didn't. She said she had been vaccinated and asked if I was going to get it. I said no.

She asked me how it was to go into stores without a mask, whether I had to show documentation of my medical exemption. I told her people don't have to show documentation to prove a medical exemption but that I had some just in case. I said some stores accept the exemptions and others do not (this is actually discrimination). Her son doesn't wear a mask and hasn't been going anywhere because of the mask mandate. (How terrible.) I told her that if he has severe anxiety from wearing a mask, he has a legitimate medical exemption. She said he was not aware of that and that wearing a mask would definitely cause severe anxiety for him. She said she'd pass that information on to him.

After I dropped my groceries off at home, I went to the second hand bookstore. I asked if I could shop with my medical exemption, and the owner said I could. When I was paying for my books, she asked me if I was going to get the shot. I said no. She said she didn't want to get it either but that she'd been getting a lot of flak from her loved ones because of it. Her doctor also told her she should really get it "because she's aboriginal." (???)

She said she didn't realize there were a lot of people who weren't getting the shot. I said there were a lot of us and that only a little over 50% of Americans had gotten it so far. She said she thinks it's a personal choice.

A Dark of the Moon Group Meditation or Prayer on May 21 to Stop 5G and Nullify Illegitimate Power on Earth

If you're so inclined, please join me on May 21 for a group meditation or prayer during the Dark of the Moon in Taurus with a focus on removing 5G technology from Earth and nullifying the power of those who are harming us and other living things on this planet. They have no legitimate authority over us. Let's not pretend they do.

We're clearing harmful frequencies and connecting with the natural healing frequencies of our bodies and of Earth. We're connecting to the power of the love we have for life and for living things on this planet. We're receiving protection from harm, and we're asking for protection from harm for other living things. We're connecting to the immense power of the unbreakable, unshakeable resistance. We're asking for the removal of 5G technology and of all harmful technologies on Earth. We're asking for the nullification of violent and illegitimate power in all forms.

We're requesting that elected officials and others in positions of power who are ignoring the mountain of evidence showing 5G dangers be given the full weight of their decisions, that they be required to carry the full burden and the full knowledge of the harm being caused, and the harm that will be caused in future, as a result of their actions or inaction.

We should not carry the burden of that knowledge. They should carry the burden of that knowledge. We're asking that they be made fully aware that they will be held accountable for not using their power to block and stop 5G.

The Dark of the Moon or Balsamic phase is a time for stillness and meditation each month. It's a time for making deep inner connections and realizations. The Dark of the Moon is a time for gathering powerful insights from all that we've experienced during the previous lunar cycle, while intuitively positioning ourselves for the new lunar cycle to come.

The Balsamic Moon will be in fixed earth sign Taurus, a good Moon for connecting deeply to the Earth and to the rhythms of nature.

The Balsamic Moon in Taurus leads into a 2-degree New Moon in Gemini on May 22 (10:39 a.m. PST). This Gemini New Moon is disposited by winged messenger Mercury, which is in very powerful position at the time. Mercury will form a conjunction to Venus (newly retrograde) at 20 degrees Gemini on May 22, the day of the New Moon. Both Mercury and Venus in Gemini will be in exact square aspect to Neptune in Pisces. The North Node of the Moon is also newly in Gemini, as of May 5, making Mercury the strongest guiding planet in the zodiac.

This astrology indicates an excellent time for sending spiritual or conscience-based messages out into the "etheric airwaves." We're putting the universe on notice. We will not allow the rollout of this harmful technology. We will not stand by while people are harmed and killed by this technology or any other technology. We will not allow ourselves to be herded into heavily-controlled, heavily-surveilled, and highly-irradiated SmartCities. We will not turn our biology or our energy over to those who wish to make us something other than natural, biological human beings. We are sending powerful waves of resistance out into the ethers that will counteract the harmful microwaves and millimetre waves with which we are being bombarded. We connect with the vast power and support of our lineage - the long lineage of resistance to illegitimate and violent power on Earth.

Please lend your power, your energy, your spirit, your conscience, and your ingenuity to the battle to stop 5G technology and all that is connected to it.

It's Been a Long Time Coming...And It STILL Ain't Here!

The Moon in its dark phase came together with Venus this morning. A conjunction of the feminine planets, merging forces in the deep, dark sign of ancient soul knowledge, Scorpio. Feminine strength and its raw, powerful beauty - wounds, scars and all - holding its position as Saturn in Libra and Pluto in Capricorn square off in the first of three closing squares. Holding its position as the Old School Masculine believes it's divvying up the world and serving it on a silver platter to its cohorts at the top of their man-made pyramid-scheme hierarchies. Dividing it into dollars and cents, euros and yuans, rupees and dinars.

All the raw, soul-deep Scorpio is squaring the triple conjunction in Aquarius and trining Uranus Rx in Pisces. Eyes on the future, eyes on the future is the constant refrain.

But what about now? And what led up to now?

It's been a hurtful trip to this Earth for many of us. A long succession of hurtful trips through the lineages.

And we're supposed to believe a change is coming. That it's almost here. After lifetimes of dirt in our eyes and salt in our wounds, after being ground down and ground down until we barely had the strength to go on. After having the faith diminished to the tiniest pinprick of candlelight. After having what's right and good punished and abused and mocked for so long.

Scorpio is intuition. The soul knowledge we kept inside and carried with us through generations like the most valuable of family heirlooms. Like the best china or lace or silver or pearls. Because it is the most valuable family heirloom.

And we agreed. No, we'll never forget. We'll never give up. We'll continue despite derision and opposition and every dirty trick in the book. We'll use that derision and opposition and all those dirty tricks to get better and wiser and stronger and more effective. Until the change is here. Until we can see it with our own eyes and hear it with our own ears and taste it with our own tongues.

And everyone who kept that promise, who kept his or her soul close, who protected the connection and the knowledge above all else and fought for that right in others, knows the struggle. We know it's the only battle worth fighting here on this beautiful little planet.

Here's Beth Hart, an Aquarius Sun, singing about the real change - not the co-opted Obama-fied version:

Beth Hart's A Change is Gonna Come

It's an old song written by Sam Cooke that has been covered many times, but her version really captures the feeling of this Scorpio square to Aquarius and trine to Pisces to me.

She's singing about all the times our hearts have been broken because the change didn't come. The sweet, child-like hope we had for it that was crushed so many times. And the times we went out on a limb for what was right and good and were left hanging because what was supposed to be there to support us wasn't.

And she's singing about the never-say-die resolve. The sheer strength of will of what is right and good. The power of soul truth. And the love that is so strong it keeps us getting back on our feet to try again...and again.

We can be thankful for the particular brand of Venus in Scorpio love here because with it, the heart has been broken and betrayed so many times that it won't be fooled again. Venus here is not an easy sell. Glossy words and social charms will never impress. Only the real change will suffice.

The Deep, Dark Balsamic Scorpio Moon

Photo: Willow

The Moon enters Scorpio this afternoon at 3:24 p.m. MST and we start into a series of big lunar aspects surrounding tomorrow's Saturn-Pluto square and preceding Monday's Scorpio New Moon. The detailed post on that is here. We're bringing a lot into the alchemical mix over the next 48 hours. Processing, processing.

There's nothing left to do as the Moon goes dark but to get still and listen carefully, intuitively, as we allow for emotional completion of this cycle. As we do that, there could be some intense emotions rising to the surface. Traumas and betrayals from the past that we need to emotionally revisit one last time before passing the related emotion through us and releasing it once and for all.

We're in a much different place now than we were then.

This is a very powerful Dark of the Moon in Scorpio, as well as New Moon, and we can let go of a lot here. The emotional rebirth at the New Moon can be complete. We're finally able to release some knots we've been working on untying for so long now related to complex, long-embedded issues.

We also experience the Sun in Scorpio trine to Uranus Rx in Pisces at 22 degrees of the signs around suppertime tonight (6:41 p.m.). In relation to the Saturn-Pluto square:

"There's a strong body intuition available here connected to broader spiritual guidance, and we can use that as a guide and a safe haven as the structures shift (or reinforce yet more of the same) and attempt to draw us into roles within them."

We've got a stellium in Scorpio at the moment - the Moon, Venus, Ceres, the Sun and Mercury.

For a backgrounder on Scorpio/Pluto energy, check this post: "The Slow March Out of Scorpio Has Begun..." It's from almost exactly this time last year - November 17, 2008.

Although, the current Scorpio energy has more of a "completing" feel to it to me...still striking us where it hurts at times, but not as incendiary as last year.

(!!!)

Since Saturn entered cardinal sign Libra (October 29), we've felt things start to move. Simultaneously, there has been a building tension as Saturn slowly moves closer to its first square to Pluto in Capricorn at 1 degree of both signs.

The structural shifts have been initiated. Creak, creak, creak. I can feel it in my bones.

Any structural set-up (especially relationship set-up) that can't withstand the increasing Plutonic pressure will break rather than bend.

Unresolved drama and detritus will increasingly be spun off and thrown up in our faces as the square tightens and Pluto penetrates further to the core of the situations.

This week (November 8 - 11), Mercury in Scorpio - just out in front of the Sun - leads the way with squares to Jupiter, Chiron and Neptune in Aquarius and a trine to Uranus Rx in Pisces.

We're being brought mentally into the game and prepared for the multi-layered aspects we're heading into that will propel us into new structural situations.

I've written about the Saturn-Pluto series of squares previously, and I've basically been writing about the themes since the G20 Summit in September. There is quite a lot of background available on the blog, so I'm not going to do a really broad article here, but I do want to focus on one particular aspect involved in this initial square.

One thing that stands out to me in the chart for the moment when Saturn in Libra squares Pluto in Capricorn (8:20 a.m. MST on November 15) is a massive conjunction of points and bodies in Scorpio (the Moon, Venus, Part of Fortune, Ceres, the Sun and Mercury).

Of particular interest is the Moon in the Balsamic phase (also called the Dark of the Moon) in Scorpio exactly conjunct Venus in Scorpio.

Background on Balsamic Moon/Dark of the Moon: this means that that Moon is closing in on a conjunction to the Sun, moving in orbit between the Earth and Sun. Because of this alignment, it appears as if the Moon is going dark. This is the end of one 28-day lunar cycle, and we'll be completing anything that needs to be completed as we release the previous cycle and ready ourselves emotionally for a new one.

The New Moon at 24 degrees Scorpio on November 16 occurs as the Saturn-Pluto square is still in full effect.

And the Dark of the Moon phase surrounding the Saturn-Pluto square and preceding the New Moon is extremely active and potent:

The Sun in Scorpio trines Uranus Rx in Pisces and squares Neptune in Aquarius November 14/15, preceding Monday's New Moon.

The Moon enters Scorpio in the afternoon of November 14, and as it goes dark in that sign, it will sextile Pluto in Capricorn, conjunct Venus in Scorpio, square Mars in Leo, square the three bodies in the Aquarius triple conjunction AND trine Uranus in Pisces! All that will be merged into the alchemical mix in less than 48 hours.

We'll be using our whip-smart Scorpionic intuition here to scrape off any last dishonest garbage related to Aquarian Age rhetoric, pulling off any remaining blinders related to our paths forward from this point. There's a strong impetus here to keep it real Scorp-style and to integrate the more difficult, neglected aspects of consciousness and reality that it represents.

The soul-deep Scorpionic feel for things is squaring off with the bird's-eye-view, emotionally-detached Aquarian intellectualism.

But it's also trining Uranus Rx in Pisces - so the understanding and experience of the spiritual/intuitive/unseen realms held by Scorpio and Pisces are flowing around those fixed squares.

There's a strong body intuition available here connected to broader spiritual guidance, and we can use that as a guide and a safe haven as the structures shift (or reinforce yet more of the same) and attempt to draw us into roles within them.

Within the context of the strategic relationships being formed and solidified with Saturn in Libra square Pluto in Capricorn, the super potent Dark of the Moon in Scorpio means: we've got some bullshit to burn off first, and we'll initiate that process surrounding this first Saturn square to Pluto.

Makes sense, right? The planet of structure and the planet of soul-necessary transformation in a series of closing squares. There are bound to be outdated dynamics and structural components that need to be addressed. Aspects we've outgrown that need to be sloughed off and other areas that need to be strengthened and structurally reinforced for the long haul.

With this much Scorpio energy, there will be an almost overpowering energy related to coming together and merging resources. However, with Saturn and Capricorn involved, things must move forward step-by-step, concretely, toward shared goals and structural integrity. We can't seal the deal until we know it's absolutely right, right down to the nitty gritty details.

We're taking the lead here and choosing more adult relationships and relationship dynamics. Committing to true soul affinity and compatibility, nothing less.

We're getting serious and getting real about the types of relationships that are going to be successful vehicles for us to reach our full potentials long-term - both on a personal level and relating to the Plutonic impetus for collective potential and progress.

Our Saturnine goals take on a much broader context with Pluto in Capricorn involved, especially within the context of the times in which we're living. There are bigger goals for us here than we can even see at the moment, but as long as we know that and trust our intuition to guide us in reaching those goals, we can make the right decisions step-by-step.

With the influence of the Dark of the Moon in Scorpio during the Saturn-Pluto square, we can understand that there are dynamics we've been accepting that we can no longer accept moving forward. There are ways we've been put down and made less powerful that we can no longer live by. Subjugation and domination power and control dynamics we've been conditioned to continue that have to go. Subtle abuses, mostly energetic and beneath the surface, that have to be brought up and faced. These themes will be especially visible in our business/commerce structural set-ups and in the ways we relate within those set-ups.

With the Moon, the process at hand relates to early conditioning, so old wounds that have their roots in childhood or the teen years will be coming up. Conditioned responses we learned then from our interactions with other people that we have continued into adulthood can be examined here.

The learned ways of interacting that will be successful for us moving forward can be built into our relationship dynamics now, and the ones holding us back from our heart's desire relationships can be let go of - with some emotional digging.

Things that have been simmering for a long time will be forced to the surface by this series of Saturn in Libra - Pluto in Capricorn squares - in effect between now and September 2010.

There are a lot of dirty tricks and outdated dynamics embedded in our relationships - especially related to the interaction of masculine and feminine. There are ties we need to sever - maybe to people, maybe just to certain dynamics, probably to both - because we can't achieve our full potential with the way things are, with the way we are relating.

The Moon relates, in part, to conditioned emotional responses and the past. So again, here is the Scorpionic process of examination, elimination and regeneration related to these emotional themes.

There is a strong theme here (as there is with Pluto/North Node in Capricorn, in general) of the feminine (in both men and women) empowering itself, taking control and getting out from under dynamics and situations that have oppressed it for generations. And that's not always going to be pretty or easy. The feminine has been conditioned not to rock the boat, not to hurt anyone's feelings, to keep the appearance that all is well, even when that's far from the case. And it has been accepted, often, only on those terms.

The feminine has also been conditioned to accept co-dependence and to fear for its survival without the structure of a relationship, even an inadequate or abusive one.

There are forms of emotional abuse people have been so conditioned to accept (especially prevalent in work structures/hierarchies and along the home/work continuum) that people are not even consciously aware of them anymore.

That's about to change in a big way. We've hit the do-or-die breaking point.

To be brutally honest about these things, to bring them to conscious awareness and to sever energetic ties to the abusive/draining aspects once and for all is the potential of this Saturn-Pluto square within the Balsamic Scorpio Moon phase. Snip!

The understanding of what (and who!) needs to go (and how to go about getting rid of it) can be accessed internally now if we allow the quiet, still part of ourselves to take the lead post-Saturn-Pluto square, as the Moon goes dark and then renews itself with the Scorpio New Moon. If we do it right, what needs to go will slough right off like a snake shedding its skin.

Another round of tightening boundaries and stopping energy leaks.

Making better, more mature decisions about how we interact and with whom we interact. Choosing not to enter into relationships or dynamics that are beneath us. (This is often a Scorpionic attraction.) Not falling into old, conditioned karmic dynamics - examining and understanding what it is emotionally that drew us into those types of dynamics in the first place, including family patterns. Committing to the understanding that what is abusive to the soul cannot possibly sustain us. Restructuring our relationship dynamics so that we are fully cemented in a better, more mature way of interacting.

Saturn in Libra demands that we enter into relationships and partnerships of true equals, and this square to Pluto is where we take responsibility for that. If we bypass that responsibility, the rest of the Saturn-Pluto squares could get nasty!

This will also be a time when long-term goals and motivations become more visible and apparent based on the alliances and relationships that are entered into or solidified at this time. So watch the manoevres of business heads and members of government to get an understanding of the long-term directions they are trying to implement (or rather, impose).

This will also be visible in our personal lives with the people in our social circles, as there will be restructuring there, as well. A transformation of social hierarchy and breaking down of old social pecking orders...with new ones emerging.

The rules for our relationships and social dynamics can be rewritten here to reflect the more mature, fair and equal relations possible with these aspects.

We can choose to continue the domination/subjugation hierarchies or we can commit to building real egalitarian relations, accepting all the bumps in the road that that will bring...

Still Discomfort Leading to Many Shifts In The Next Week

The combination of the Leo Dark of the Moon Phase today and the pressure from that mutable T-square is a tricky little combo.

Being still and quiet and letting things wrap up of their own volition...but dealing with the antsy mutable squares and Mercurial pressure within that stillness.

Not to mention the growing desire to bust forth into a new creative cycle, exerting the power of our personal artistry and talents as we head to the Leo New Moon early tomorrow morning. This is the first New Moon after a longer than usual eclipse season with plenty of intense inner, emotional focus, so we're very ready to start a new cycle of outward expression, letting our personalities lead the way.

The mutable T-square tension continues this week as Mercury in Virgo (coming from it's conjunction to Saturn) as well as the Moon in Virgo oppose Uranus Rx in Pisces (Friday - Saturday). This is also a pre-cursor, of course, to the next Saturn-Uranus opposition coming up September 15. Wrapping our brains around the changes we're dealing with...with many more up ahead. Getting to the necessary information. Getting organized. Mental and physical tune-ups. Getting our systems prepped and ready and functioning well. We need to be mentally, physically and emotionally healthy and strong to process the energy of these times...and the changes we're dealing with. No lagging. (I started doing Pilates at home during yesterday's Mars square Uranus, and I think it's going to be very helpful with some lower back problems I have...)

Mercury entered the shadow degrees of its next retrograde just after the conjunction to Saturn in Virgo at 21 degrees on Monday. So even though Saturn in Virgo will not be revisiting the degrees it is travelling through now, we'll be going back over those degrees of Virgo with a Mercury Retrograde in September, getting a better handle on what we're experiencing now. We'll get a chance to pick up any important info and make any necessary connections then. Details, details when you're dealing with Virgo. And preparation on top of preparation.

We're heading into a very mutable week, post-New Moon in Leo tomorrow. All the personal planets and the North Node change signs. Saturn moves out of its retrograde shadow in Virgo and Pluto continues stationing direct on 0 degrees Capricorn, kicking up more business developments related to the massive Plutonic transformation our structures are undergoing. As we continue to penetrate to the core reality of hierarchical outgrowths...

August 20
- New Moon in Leo

August 21
- Mercury in Virgo opposite Uranus Rx in Pisces
- Moon conjunct Saturn in Virgo
- North Node moves from Aquarius to Capricorn for an 18-month stay (until early March 2011)

August 22
- Saturn in Virgo leaves retrograde shadow at 21 degrees Virgo, entering six degrees of Virgo (until October 10) it will not revisit in its next retrograde
- Sun enters Virgo

August 25
- Mars enters Cancer
- Mercury enters Libra

August 26
- Cardinal T-square: Mercury in Libra squares Mars in Cancer and Pluto in Capricorn (0 degrees)
- Venus enters Leo
- Mars in Cancer opposite stationing Pluto in Capricorn (forming cardinal T-square with Mercury in Libra)

Dark of the Moon Heading to a New Moon in Gemini

We've got an interesting weekend ahead. Not so much for exciting external events, necessarily. But there is a lot going on internally.

We're currently experiencing the Dark of the Moon (balsamic phase) in Taurus.

You'll recall from my Saturn Direct post that the Taurus-Aquarius square is a prominent theme these days colouring the concrete steps Saturn is making as it moves direct, and the Dark of the Moon in Taurus continues these themes...

Tomorrow, we begin the first of the exact conjunctions in that Jupiter-Chiron-Neptune triple conjunction at 26 Aquarius. Jupiter and Chiron conjunct tomorrow (May 23) as the Moon in Taurus conjuncts Mercury retrograde, sextiles Uranus in Pisces and squares all three bodies in Aquarius within three hours.

Jupiter and Neptune exactly conjunct on Wednesday, May 27. Neptune and Chiron immediately go retrograde at that point (Neptune on May 28, Chiron on May 29) with Jupiter following suit June 15.

The Dark of the Moon is a time of allowing the previous lunar cycle to fade to black. It's a time of inner stillness and wrapping up when we function on emotion and inner knowing regarding what needs to happen (if anything) to complete the lunar cycle and prepare for the New Moon. With the connections to Mercury, Uranus and Aquarius, we are preparing intellectually, emotionally and physically for the changes up ahead. It's a busy Dark of the Moon, but in Taurus, it should have a nice, sensuous feel. All in good time. Kick back and let this cycle wrap up as it will.

The Sun newly in Gemini is raring to go, but with its dispositor Mercury retrograde in Taurus along with the Moon in this phase, things are still, with an internal focus.

Twelve hours after the Moon in Taurus squares the Aquarius bodies (Sunday morning), we have a New Moon at 3 degrees Gemini. Fresh. But still with the backdrop of Mercury in retrograde until May 30.

Another important conjunction happening tomorrow, as Jupiter and Chiron come together, is (true) Black Moon Lilith and Pluto at 2 degrees Capricorn. Black Moon Lilith has quite an erratic movement around the zodiac, and she has zipped with great speed retrograde to meet with Pluto on this day. The consciousness represented by Black Moon Lilith has a crucial role to play now under the backdrop of all this "future planning," and BML needed to get back to Pluto so she could put her cards on the table with as much potency as possible during this first Jupiter-Chiron conjunction in Aquarius. BML knows people don't mess around with Pluto. When Pluto exerts itself, people listen. (They have to.) So setting aside for the moment the injustice that many people won't listen to BML on her own terms, she joins forces with Pluto to get the message across. Pluto and BML kind of read each other's mail. All that dark stuff they know about that most people deny or gloss over. Consciousness comrades.

The vibe related to this BML-Pluto conjunction is why I'm talking about this and this.

We have to look at the multi-layered reality now, every aspect, if we are going to really create something beneficial to all of humanity. We can't get caught up in the promise of the future and rosy idealism and forget about the complexity of the issues.

New Moon in Sagittarius - It's a Zinger, Baby!

So we're finally coming out of the Scorpionic grind this week and moving into a powerful New Moon in Sagittarius on Thursday. Some crazy action going on around that thing, which I'll go into a little later...

But first! Yet more Scorpionic processing as we go through the Dark of the Moon (or Balsamic Moon) in Scorpio, leading up to the New Moon. Aren't we all excited about that?!?

(Oh, dear God...no more!)

Don't worry...this shouldn't be so bad.

Yes, Mars, the Sun and Mercury have (mercifully) entered Sagittarius at this point, but we have a Grand Finale Moon in Scorpio (starting Monday, Nov. 24 suppertime MST until Thursday, Nov. 27 morning) to make sure we have emotionally processed all the stuff stirred up by Scorpio season. One last purge of past dynamics, conditioning and crystallized garbage weighing down the energy stream.

Yes...sounds exhausting on the tail end of dragging our asses through the underworld over the past month or two, but the best part about the Dark of the Moon is that you don't really have to DO anything. You just have to ALLOW. Allow whatever needs to be processed to purge right out of our little systems. It'll happen without effort from us. In fact, the less we do, the better, I think. It's only when we attach to what is leaving or get involved in the drama of the process that we get in trouble...and the Moon, especially the Moon in Scorpio, is prone to doing this. So we have to turn inward now, get still and listen to that vital part of ourselves...the part instructing us to stay safely inside, out of reach of the last-gasping garbage trying to reattach. Whatever is on its way out is on its way out. Nothing we can do about it. What's dying is dying. It can't be saved. We have to bank on that which is regenerating and going on...and disengage from the whipped-up energy that is being sucked into the Plutonic garbage disposal. All the crap we decided we've had enough of...or the Universe decided for us!

Whatever you do, don't throw your hand down the Plutonic garbage disposal for anything! It's not worth it to go after anything on its way out...even something you don't think you can live without. Attaching to anything out of emotional habit, conditioning or security fears will not be successful...and could actually cause a major trainwreck. As could accepting treatment/dynamics in your life that you were already instructed to trash, as per Pluto's strict instructions!

The Dark of the Moon is the time just before the New Moon when it seems that the Moon's light is going out. The Moon becomes dark and invisible as it passes between the Sun and Earth. As soon as it moves out of that alignment, a sliver of Moon's light becomes visible again. Symbolic, yes? Closing one chapter and beginning a new one. This happens every month, of course, but the events surrounding this New Moon certainly do not happen every month...very special times. Again...I'll talk about this a little later. Very important to let things fade completely to black now. Allowing is the key word...allowing the process to extricate ourselves from the old, where we cannot exist any longer.

(This allowing/ending goes on up until 9:58 a.m. MST on Thursday, when the Sun and Moon come together in New Moon formation at 5 degrees Sagittarius.)

The Scorpio Moon in the Balsamic phase will give us time to emotionally come to terms with where we are now, post-Scorpio season...what we've stripped away...what is coming to an end in our lives and what is being born. Things are changing in a big way and in very concrete ways these days (Saturn - Uranus oppositions). It's really happening, and this means the old ways are dying. No matter how crapola the old set-up was near the end, it's still sad or unnerving at times to know that some aspects of our lives/selves/relationships/structures are gone forever. They have been/will be transformed into something better, yes. But we still have to say goodbye, with nostalgia (Moon) or with glee (or a combo of the two). We have to emotionally process the endings and prepare for the beginnings. We can see the old in the new, sure...but it's still not the same, and we have to make peace with that.

There are those events in life (babies being born, people dying, weddings, divorces, etc.) that, just by the fact of their occurring, change you and your life forever. Nothing will ever be the same afterward. There's no going back. One whole backdrop is reduced to rubble as you step into a new one. The old self and way of living is gone. It's a little melancholy.

These times are sort of like the entire planet stepping out of that old backdrop and into a new one. There is a lot to come to terms with saying goodbye to as we transition into the new backdrop. So many layers to the endings and beginnings. We're the ones we've been waiting for, indeed.

Pluto entering Capricorn and the ongoing Saturn - Uranus oppositions through 2010 are indicators of this grand-scale transformation of the "way things are."

And both these indicators are very much at the forefront during this New Moon.

Pluto enters Capricorn at 9:44 p.m. MST on Wed., Nov. 26. (For more on that, check out the November Astro Perspective)

Uranus goes direct in Pisces (still within two degrees of opposition to Saturn in Virgo) at 8:55 a.m. MST on Thurs., Nov. 27.

The New Moon in Sagittarius occurs just an hour later at 9:58 a.m. MST.

In astrological terms, and because Uranus and Pluto move through our zodiac so slowly, it's as if all these events are happening together, a convergence.

The New Moon also occurs conjunct Mercury and Mars in Sagittarius (so that means the Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars are in a stellium in Sagittarius.)

A concentration of new Sagittarian energy just as Pluto leaves the sign.

Pluto did its best to bring to light and purge hidden aspects of religious and cultural extremism, ideological bigotry and power struggles, the interweavings of hatred and faith, cultural excess, hypocrisy in what is being preached, zealotry, etc.

Now we have the opportunity with this New Moon to shed the crystallization of the past once and for all regarding subjects like religion, culture, ideology, philosophy, higher education and belief systems and go forward with a new level of faith and optimism in our lives, broadened understandings, and a fresh integration of Sagittarian subjects. A new fire burning in our bellies, sustaining and inspiring us.

And yet...there is an element of playing by the rules with this New Moon. Sagittarius loves freedom, but with Pluto entering the first degree of Capricorn and Saturn being strongly involved, there are protocols to be followed. We have to be allowed into the structures in order to transform them, after all.

The Sabian symbol for the New Moon degree of Sag is: A Game of Cricket

"This is not the time for anyone to be pushing the envelope to test what is acceptable to the rules of society. The rules and guidelines for operating in this situation are, or should be, made very clear - there will be some form of punishment for dishonesty. There is a need to remember everyone's position in the game: your own and others. Also, every game has its rules."

"Always keep your composure. You can't score from the penalty box, and to win, you have to score."

- Bobby Hull

Thank-you, Mr. Hull, for that reminder. heh heh

We have to be in the game now in order to change how the game is played. Keep your stick on the ice. ;-)
