"Show Me Your Papers, or No Bus Ride for You!" More Authoritarian Bullshit to Report As We Open Out of the Scorpio New Moon Opposite Uranus in Taurus

Scorpio is a sign known for dealing with more than its fair share of bullshit. It works in the murky nether-regions, dealing with abuses of power of all kinds, from the glaringly obvious to the whisper-subtle.

And as we open out of yesterday's Scorpio New Moon exactly opposite Uranus in Taurus, oh boy, does this Scorpio stellium have a bullshitty tale to share.

On November 5, 2021, I was kicked off the city bus in the new province where I'm living because of my medical exemption for the mask. They were requiring me to "show them my papers," and I did not have "my papers" on me at the time. (I do have documentation of my exemption, including from a natural health medical professional.) I have already ridden the bus here more than once without a mask and without showing any "papers" by declaring my exemption. I also rode the city bus for the previous 18 months in British Columbia without showing or filing any papers with any "authorities."

The bus driver refused to drive the bus with me on board and waited almost half an hour until her supervisor arrived. The other passengers were told to get on a different bus. The driver waited outside the bus until the supervisor arrived. I was also informed by her that public transit is not an essential service. (I beg to differ on that one.)

When the "supervisor" showed up, it was a huge, beefy goon of a guy in a reflective safety jacket, sunglasses, and mask with a poppy pinned to his chest. November 11 is Remembrance Day in Canada - ironically, the day Canadians remember those who fought and died for our freedoms in war. The supervisor sat down close to me on the bus and informed me in an authoritative voice that I would not be riding the bus without showing my papers. He also refused to return my fare.

About those "papers": I was permanently injured by the allopathic medical system. Because of this, I do not use the allopathic medical system unless it's an emergency, and I rarely have need to use even the natural health system. I have documentation of my exemption from a Traditional Chinese Medicine doctor/acupuncturist, but it's highly unlikely that this will be "official enough" for the authoritarian types.

I have to ask, is this what the poppy stands for? Is this the freedom our ancestors (and my own dear family members) fought and died for? I would suggest that this man has no right to be wearing a poppy on his chest as he is refusing public service and kicking a paying customer with a health condition off the bus.

I have since learned that many people with disabilities and mask exemptions are being refused bus service in this city. This is the only form of transportation that many have, certainly the only form of independent transportation. This is insane and horrific discrimination, not to mention, it's dangerous to cut people off from transportation. For people living below the poverty line, the bus might be their only form of transportation. Disabilities and health debilitation cause poverty. Many people take the bus to the grocery store and can't walk to a store. And this bus driver, city transit itself, is trying to argue that public transit is not an essential service? Of course it is! Do you know who made the decision that it is not essential? Car drivers.

There are considerable dangers to wearing a mask, especially for people with certain health conditions. Masks DO NOT stop a microscopic virus, and asymptomatic transmission is rarely, if ever, occurring.

This about authoritarian control, not public health.

Meditative Movements and Resurrection Out of Stillness

Photo: Willow

Action planet Mars is creeping-crawling back up to full speed direct, pushing through the bramble bushes, booby traps, and energy drains of late Scorpio. The next couple weeks require the utmost caution and thoughtfulness on our parts as we carefully pick through this territory. Our movements are thick with karmic recoil now, as mighty malefic Mars moves through this quite loaded area of the astrological zodiac.

From a previous article:

"During Mars' dip back into Scorpio, we will move back over the emotional, psychological, and energetic wakes of past actions/trajectories while also becoming aware of areas of emotional or energetic over-extension."

With Mars now moving direct, we have officially entered a new two-year cycle related to goals, personal direction, desires, sex life, and mergers of resources and/or energy. Contemplating what we would like to accomplish over the next two years, as well as coming up with some basic ideas as far as how we might get there, is a good exercise at the moment.

We can also sense at this time - if we get very quiet and very still for a moment - the directions, goals, driving desires, and relationship dynamics that have now run their course.

With the degrees of late Scorpio involved, colouring our trajectories for the next two years of life, there is only so much energy to go around. In order to be our most effective, potent, and ultimately successful selves, we must allow some things to come to their organic end, re-investing our energy in what naturally resurrects itself out of those endings.

Mars Direct! An Unearthing of Previous Articles to Fortify Our New Directions

Well, our boy Mars is just about to go direct at 23 degrees Scorpio on June 29 (4:39 p.m. PDT), initiating a new two-year cycle related to goals, personal direction and trajectory, desires, physical energy, and...sex!

I'm offering a couple older articles here so that interested parties can have this perspective fresh in their minds as they move forward, along with Mars.

Astrology is like fine wine or an expertly-crafted violin - it often improves with time. The astrological information often makes more sense and gives clarified perspective with a little distance on it. So in light of that, I offer these articles as Mars completes its retrograde period and begins moving forward again through the zodiac.

Please note: Willow's Web Astrology patrons have already received these articles. They were also previously available for purchase on the blog, so some non-patrons may have already purchased them, as well. Please check your email box before purchasing.

The first article was released February 12, 2016 and is titled, "Mars Retrograde 2016: a Re-Direction of Passions" - $9.50

The second article was released March 19, 2016 and talks about the Saturn retrograde in Sagittarius. This article is called "Entering a Period of Beneficial Restructuring" - $6.50

These articles can be purchased via PayPal by clicking the links above or by email money transfer to: willowsweb [at] hushmail.com.

You may recall that action planet Mars stationed retrograde April 17, 2016 in conjunction to taskmaster Saturn, drawing the energy of that conjunction into the retrograde process and into our next two years on Planet Earth.

Mars and Saturn will finally make their exact conjunction on August 24 at 9 degrees Sagittarius, indicating a check-in point as far as our personal trajectories, goals, and physical mojo are concerned. New directions, goals, and desires should be solidified or shored up in some way around that time.

New life and new energy are coming as we close out this month of June. Certain areas are being resurrected. True feelings and desires are being revealed. And Mars is stirring the pot in ways that the pot desperately needs to be stirred

Mars is now stationing direct in quincunx aspect to Uranus and Ceres in Aries, indicating that it may be quite radical and/or shocking breaks from previous trajectories that are nourishing and validating to us now. We're busting out in new ways over the next two years, based on who we are and what we desire now, while also resolving some long-standing and very sticky karmic issues.

The next two years won't always be pretty. In fact, some of it will be pretty raw! But there is no energy in the same old karmic set-ups. There is no life in the holding patterns.

We're moving to where the life is, to where the energy is, to where the inspiration lies.

And with this martial quincunx energy carried forward for the next two years, there is not much that can stand in our way...

Some Scorpionic Guidance From the Vault

Mars is slowing to a crawl at 23 degrees Scorpio, preparing for a direct station June 29.

Many of the issues that were on our plates during Saturn's transit of Scorpio (2012 - 2015) are now being stirred up, inflamed, and otherwise activated by the action-and-war planet, Mars.

For a refresher on the hidden context and some guidance on how to deal with a malefic planet in big, bad Scorpio, consider purchasing my Saturn in Scorpio article, first published in 2012. The themes are highly applicable to this period of time and will carry forward to some extent for the next two years. (Please note: many of the patrons will already have this article.)

Saturn in Scorpio - $10

I also have a more recent patron article available on the subject, released to patrons May 26, 2016:

Mars Retrograde In Late Scorpio: A Call to Action From the Deepest Reaches of the Soul

Action planet Mars, moving retrograde, re-enters its own sign of Scorpio on May 27 (until August 2), for an inky-potent dip back into the sign of hidden context, including a direct station on June 29 at 23 degrees.

During Mars' dip back into Scorpio, we will move back over the emotional, psychological, and energetic wakes of past actions/trajectories while also becoming aware of areas of emotional or energetic over-extension.

If we've been giving more than we're receiving or putting up with eroding bullshit of any kind, Mars re-entering late Scorpio may require a trimming of the fat.

Let go of the non-essentials. This includes issues, dynamics, and even people that take up a burdensome amount of emotional and psychological space.

This may seem a little ruthless, but the ruthlessness of Mars in Scorpio is required for survival now. Scorpio is a sign Mars rules, after all. It knows the territory. It knows the score. Yes, Mars in Scorpio is a little ruthless.

But when you're being sucked dry by surreptitious hangers-on who use your energy, talents, or skills without due return, credit, or compensation, ruthless is what you need to be.

When you're being sucked into the drama or problems of others, leaving you at an energetic shortfall, ruthless is what you need to be.

When you're being lied to, poisoned, abused, or manipulated - as we are on Planet Earth by those who falsely claim to be our leaders - ruthless is what you need to be.

Maintain rock solid boundaries and refuse to put up with nonsense. At the very least, don’t willingly put up with it.

Mars in Scorpio is a battling placement, but the battle is going on in the hidden realms. Our intuition is the guide here, helping us manoeuvre through the dark. Every intuitive twinge tells us something important about the true reality of the situations in which we find ourselves and how best to navigate them.

Venus Enters Scorpio: An Energetic Discharge of Venus Retro 2010

Before you diagnose yourself with depression or low self-esteem, first make sure you are not, in fact, just surrounded by assholes. - William Gibson, sci fi novelist and Scorpio South Node

Venus in Scorpio - October 9 to November 2

From October 6 to 19, Venus moves through the degrees of its previous retrograde in Via Combusta Libra and Scorpio (27 Libra to 13 Scorpio). This kicks up any unfinished business from the fall of 2010 (with roots to fall 2002, fall 1994, fall 1986, fall 1978, fall 1970, fall 1962...), allowing us to complete some things and to energetically reconstitute ahead of the upcoming Venus Transit and Venus retrograde in Gemini in May/June 2012.

As Venus moves through this area, we're given a status report on how far we've come in relationship since last fall and on what points might still require a little alchemical pouring-of-the-coal-to-it to move beyond.

It's possible, if one has very responsibly dealt with his or her relationships in the past year(s), to get a free pass here. Nothing left to examine, resolve, or purge. No etheric tendrils left to disconnect from at all.

However, this is a fairly charged little stretch of the zodiac at the best of times, intricately connected to collective dynamics, and this is even more the case due to the previous Venus retrograde through this zone. Things can flare up in unpredictable ways with little provocation, especially if transiting Venus is making aspects to the natal chart.

Love planet Venus is in detriment in Scorpio, the sign of all things socially uncomfortable and hidden. It's difficult. (Venus in Virgo hears what I'm sayin'.)

Communication planet Mercury conjuncts responsibility planet Saturn in the sign of balance, justice, and equality Libra today (5:01 p.m. CDT). The Sun is also moving to a conjunction to Saturn in Libra October 13 just as Venus in Scorpio sextiles Pluto in Capricorn, and the key is to responsibly deal with any flares. (Keep a box of baking soda at the ready.) This includes staying out of other people's relationships and steering well clear of associated Plutonic detritus. Scorpionic relationship issues can sometimes be tempting to get involved in, but, for the most part, it's best to let the dramz move on past without our involvement.

We're moving through a time frame when a lot can be energetically laid to rest. The focus is on allowing things to resolve themselves and moving onto new ground, not getting deeper into relational muck. Things shift, and new foundational steps gain traction here, but it won't necessarily be easy.

Just before Venus enters Scorpio, it trines Neptune Rx in Aquarius from late Libra on October 7, bringing in the ghosts of relationships past and tempting us with mirages. Over the next month, don't be alarmed if you have a cringe-worthy "Not this again!" relational experience or two involving patterns, dynamics, or people you thought you had put behind you. This includes receiving poorer treatment than you warrant from people around you - Scorpio is a sign that deals with abuse and mistreatment, however subtle. Draw on the primal anger and strength of your lineage, hold your value, and respectfully demand better - for all of you.

Work through the Scorpy paranoia and fears, stay conscious, and show unwanted dynamics to the door - firmly. Don't give them anything to attach to. Unravel from participation in the hyper-charged figure eight dynamics, ground them, and walk away. Make no bones about it.

Consciously move out of reach of old attractions to people and situations that are not in your best interests, and keep moving. This is not the time to let things slide that really and truly need to be eliminated from your life and from your relationships. Scorpio relates to reading and heeding red flags and disentangling before you get sucked into an enervating black hole Plutonic vortex. Eventually, we get so good that we see the red flags a mile away, avoiding vortex territory altogether. Venus in Scorpio will lay out the path: we just need the trust, the grit and the courage to follow it all the way through the exit ramp. Easier said than done.

There are things that need to be resolved amidst insecure and fairly dicey conditions on many fronts, creating a truly new energetic balance in relationship before we can move on, and this process takes longer than we think.

With Saturn currently in Via Combusta Libra, soon to be disposited by Venus in Scorpio, we're challenged to responsibly bring to a close connections, dynamics, residual emotion, and entanglements from the past ahead of the whole new relationship ballgame indicated by next spring's Venus Transit.

Until November 3, Saturn transits, in one pass, new degrees of the zodiac (17 to 22 Libra) that it will not be returning to.

Until November 2, Venus transits Scorpio as the dispositor of Saturn in Libra.

There is a lot of long-term relationship progress possible here, and masterfully working with tricky, sticky Venus in Scorpio is the key. Getting a solid foot-hold is more complex and challenging than most will realize. Under Saturn in Libra, we're building a new framework of relationships to sustain us over the difficult years ahead, applying lessons we've learned from previous partnerships. Simultaneously, we're required to responsibly extricate ourselves from past connections tying up our emotional, physical, psychological, and psychic resources.

As we head into full-on Sun in Scorpio season October 23, we're working to shift deeply ingrained energetic dynamics while setting new standards for relationship (Saturn in Libra). Personal efforts to get down to core reality on this front shift things on broader, collective levels in ways that desperately need to see some movement. Every little flicker of 'intolerable' that enters our personal relationships has a long, dark, deep root to a broader collective issue. This especially relates to the piss-poor ways in which many women (Venus) are treated on this planet: domestic violence and mistreatment of all varieties, sexual and energetic control and exploitation, rape, devalued work, domination, financial dependence, poverty, invisibility, under-representation in positions of power, lack of access to resources, being shunned and stigmatized for not fitting traditional feminine moulds.

Each individual who refuses to let things slide and digs in to set things right in personal relationships helps get things moving in a more beneficial direction on a larger scale.

Scorpio asks us to go as deeply as we can into ourselves, to be truer to the actual experiences and emotional, psychological, and psychic realities of our souls in these human bodies. And with Venus transiting Scorpio, testing us on all the retrograde points, it's also about sharing this, responsibly sharing our process, with another person or people.

With Venus in Scorpio, especially Via Combusta Scorpio, we have an access point where we can burn through artificial, socially conditioned ideas of what relationship is, what love is, what beauty is, what value is, what a healthy sexual relationship is.

This transit is a time for a final energetic house cleaning, getting to all the nooks and crannies you might have been held off on during Venus Retro 2010.

If you still have people and dynamics in your life that just don't do it for you, this transit is the time to gently shed them while coming together more fully with those that do. (It's also a time to work through the difficult emotions if you're one of the ones being shed.)

This is about future success in relationship and releasing anything that would hold us back from that, but it isn't emotionally easy territory.

Venus in Scorpio is a good time to forgive ourselves for getting involved with people in the past who hurt us, burned us, did us wrong, and did not have our best interests at heart. It's a time to forgive ourselves for allowing people into our lives who did not have the character to be there, and it's a time to make a strong commitment to ourselves that no one with those character flaws gets through the gates again.

With the sign of Scorpio, there are themes related to the difference between meaningful, reciprocal, mutually-supportive and empowering relationship dynamics and relationship dynamics that just end up with someone getting used and burned.

Getting out from under relationship dynamics that drain our energy and resources is of especial importance now as we head closer to Saturn's ingress of Scorpio in October 2012, when it will be in mutual reception to Pluto in Capricorn.

This Scorpio season is about putting ourselves in good position ahead of the Saturn in Scorpio transit. Make your choices with cold, hard Scorpionic resolve now to avoid being dragged through the Plutonic muck later by those who have not been so energetically responsible.

Willow as Cruel, Vicious, Lowdown Dog Beater and Other Dark Feminine Projections

Willow's lesson-giver on how to cowgirl up. Sun in Virgo, Venus in Scorpio.
Photo: Willow

I don't read astrology blogs often - mostly because I find my own demanding enough as is, and when I've battled out another article, I just want to move out of that world as fast as possible. But the day before yesterday, I was drawn to read astrologer Elsa Panizzon's blog. I hadn't read it in quite a few months and read through the past little while, which I enjoyed.

In one of those odd 'psychic coincidences' (I'm not a Jung fan so don't use the other word typically associated in astrology circles), she then wrote a post about me yesterday detailing her side of an incident that happened on her blog just under two years ago during the Venus retrograde in Aries.

Elsa also wrote a post about it at the time characterizing me as a vicious attacker who came out of nowhere to beat down one of her regular commenters for absolutely no reason other than that I am a horrible witch of a person who has a pitch black heart and no soul (heh), and she basically repeated the claim in this one.

I don't see it that way, of course, and wrote a reply to her post at the time.

Both Elsa's posts exclude details as far as what really happened, so here is my perspective on it from the previous posts I wrote:

"[The poster] made a comment that she agreed with a quote by Yogananda that a "truly enlightened person" has no need for the astrological birth chart.

I begged to differ on that one and rebutted that many "enlightened" people take on very difficult life circumstances and use astrology to navigate them more skillfully than they could without this tool. I also said that I believed the poster had an old Piscean concept of "enlightened." IE. Someone sitting on a Neptunian cloud sipping pomegranate juice...

Sure, I was being a bit cheeky there, but really! Who making a comment like that in an astrology forum wouldn't expect some opposition to that statement?

Apparently, this person.

She launched a four-paragraph, expletive-laden diatribe telling me to fuck off unless I had something "positive and agreeable" to say, telling me I obviously wasn't enlightened and reiterating that enlightened people have no use for astrology. She claimed I was "harassing" her and called me a troll.

I replied that I was not harassing her but rather rebutting a comment that I didn't agree with."

Your standard online pissing match.

For me, it was a case of defending the practice of astrology from the New Age claim that "astrology is not for the enlightened." I find that there are many, many things wrong with that statement, beginning with the New Age definition of enlightened, which I pointed out to the blog commenter in my colourful little way. A little too colourful for that particular astrology forum, it turns out, but I will explain later.

For me, there's a difference between battling an ideological tenet that threatens to discredit my vocation - something I take seriously and value highly - and a vicious personal attack. If we don't defend astrology, we won't have an astrology to defend. Though I used a strong critique of that commenter's claim, I didn't really take things to a personal level - the commenter did in her reply.

I can take my licks, though, so I won't quibble there.

As I've mentioned before, I came up through tribe.net message boards, which were pretty no holds barred. The philosophical battles got heated, and they were meant to. What we're doing here is more than tapping out messages on little machines, and I'm cognizant of that. I wouldn't be doing it if it were not meaningful and effective.

So I've been the lone non-New Age voice being shit-swarmed by ten or more people of that ideological persuasion on many occasions and managed to come out unscathed with my points across. I believe there are righteous battles, and extricating astrology from an invisible (and I would say insidious) merger with New Age beliefs is righteous to me. It's something I do, though it's not always pretty, and it's almost never popular. My methods are not for everyone - especially anyone not willing to get in and get right into the meat of the subject.

I am a Libra Sun, though, and I do understand Elsa's beef on blog social decorum.

In fact, I wrote Elsa an e-mail a little later on explaining my background and apologizing for my fault in breaching the social rules of her blog. As I explained, I was very new to the world of blogging at that time - especially to the social/community aspects, which I barely realized existed - and I wasn't up on the social rules. I blew in there with the charge of 101 throwdowns with the New Age in my words, and it just didn't fit the scene. I can see how this was not the right vibe for a group of people unaware that that battle even exists.

There are people you can take out of the country and put in the city and have them adapt and fit in quite well. Then there are people like me. Social integration is a slow process.

So I breached Elsa's rules on her blog and apologized for it almost two years ago. As far as I knew, it was a resolved matter. I guess not.

Let me take this opportunity to explain some of the dynamics here astrologically:

Elsa has Mars in Libra. She says she doesn't like to fight, but the way I see it, she is fighting in classic Libra style. She's fighting socially, passive aggressively, using her large social platform, her standards for social decorum, and her like-minded following (heavy on the Mars in Libra, according to the comments section) as a shield, all while denying doing so.

To compare, I'm a Mars in Scorpio with roots in a spiritually-guided warrior clan. I grew up on the prairie in the Dirty Eighties when the earth was parched, the grasshoppers were swarming, and the Pluto in Scorpio pressure on independent ranching and farming families was brutal. If rage and battling weren't a big part of your fuel source, you didn't have the snuff to get through it.

Mars in Libra versus Mars in Scorpio. Passive aggressive versus aggressive aggressive. Guess which one is more socially acceptable, especially for women?

Elsa has a stacked southern hemisphere (top half) of her birth chart. This means that she lives a fairly public life. She has a large public forum, a large public following, and has the opportunity to be very visible in her career. She has become known to many readers through her blog and has become known to many astrologers through the AstroDispatch - an "astrology star" if there is such thing. This public realm is a place where her rules go and her perspective reigns supreme, backed up by many like-minded readers, and that's fine.

What needs to be clear, though, is the Mars in Libra wielding of this southern hemisphere public prowess and Libran popularity. Elsa often talks about having Mars conjunct Mercury in Libra, and she is wielding a definite social and public power when she decides to use her blog as a platform to write about someone, especially another astrologer, and especially when she has closed the discussion to that person's point-of-view. This, again, is a classic way of Mars-Mercury in Libra battling. With Saturn just stationed retrograde in Libra, she is using the social structure she has built and her status within it to throw daggers.

In comparison, I have a northern hemisphere (bottom half) stacked chart. This means my life is not highly public. My vocation is not highly visible. I fly under the radar for the most part - purposefully. My achievements and successes are often not readily apparent to others and are often defined in completely opposite ways than they would be for a stacked southern hemisphere chart person. I don't write accessible astrology for the masses - though I could if that's the direction it took. I write complex astrology for a honed, niche audience.

I have a strong influence (for which I do my best to be responsible) and am among the best at what I do - but very few know it. My work is often hidden. So when I write a rebuttal post like this one, let's just say it doesn't have the same public legs as an Elsa post. I'm sure she is well aware of this fact and that it factors strongly into her southern hemisphere, Mars in Libra fighting style.

In vast contrast to someone with ease in the southern hemisphere (public/career life), my opportunities are few and far between, mostly eked out with blood, sweat, and otherworldly determination. If I did not know this was the way I needed to go in life, it would be sheer insanity for me to continue.

I also have a strong Black Moon Lilith influence - meaning, I'm on the edge, on the outside with my creative perspective, interacting from outer limits, expressing things most don't want to hear and causing big reactions, mostly unintentional, through doing so. When I trigger something, it lasts for a while - apparent in the fact that a five-minute incident on her blog has now warranted two fairly over-the-top blog posts almost two years apart from Elsa.

The strong Black Moon Lilith is the 'wicked witch' vibe along with the projected dark feminine stuff - cruel, vicious dog beater and baby eater, etc.

I have never been nor will ever be accepted with open arms by the mainstream - and this includes the pseudo-alternative mainstream. I will never have thousands of followers backing me up on every word. I have to be willing to say what I know is right for its own sake and stand behind it alone if need be, so this is what I do.

I find it unfortunate that as much as Elsa has written about this, she has never acknowledged the underlying philosophical issue and the issue pertinent to our profession - the merging of New Age beliefs with astrology, in particular in this case with the "astrology is not for the enlightened" claim.

I had a similar experience this past summer and fall with another blogger who refused to speak on the real underlying issues. He, coincidentally, also had a lot of Libra in a southern hemisphere-heavy chart and used his considerable platform to speak about his perspective on me without getting into anything real.

With that, I'll leave with this excerpt:

"This might be a controversial assertion, but I don't think the sign of Libra alone is all that skilled in the creation of peace. Libra is the peacekeeper, maybe. But peacemaker? Peace creator? No.

Libra can often maintain, through it's slick social skills and airy diplomacy, a form of peace that has already been established, but getting to a state of real peace often involves getting into it, and Libra is a sign that, especially when squared by Cancer or Capricorn, prefers to avoid that unpleasantness.

This avoidance is problematic because getting to a real state of peace often involves complex and longstanding disputes, injustice, imbalance, hurt, and oppression that have been hidden, covered over, smoothed over, let slide, reinforced - made worse, in fact, by Libra's glossing over of realities and nervous insistence on everything staying nicey nice.

Slapping a Band-aid on it and forcing a phony handshake over drinks without addressing underlying issues is not the recipe for true, longstanding justice or the peace that stems from that. Keeping everything Libra light and pleasant isn't really the goal when you get right down to it - getting to the root of the discord and injustice is, as well as to a mutual understanding of what caused and continues to cause this so it can be addressed and the chains broken.

The drawing up and divining sign of Scorpio, then, becomes instrumental in the process of peace creation. The road to peace might be initiated in cardinal air Libra, but it's fixed water Scorpio that digs in and takes the process beneath the surface, where it needs to go to be crystallized.

It's the catalytic power of expressing the raw human experiences of millennia of oppression on this planet, especially the emotional realities, that starts the process toward real peace, equality and harmony. If we can't get to and express the core realities, we don't get to any real healing, peace or understanding."

Saturn Retrograde in Libra and the Via Combusta Venus Themes Come Up For Review

Saturn retrograde, 17 to 10 degrees Libra - January 26, 2011 to June 12, 2011

"This is not your standard Neptunian-glossy, Hollywood-manufactured love and relationship, either. This is Saturn in Libra dispositing Pluto in Capricorn love. It's gritty business. Remaining Neptunian illusions about love and togetherness are unceremoniously stripped, a big part of which being the money drying up, and people stop being able to fake it."

This is what I wrote after Saturn first entered Libra in June 2010 and moved into cardinal t-square formation. It remains relevant, as difficult as it is to hold relationships and relationship dynamics under the cold, hard light of day without Neptunian buffer.

Neptune is messing with us on multiple fronts this far into tail-end Pisces, and following its familiar siren song is a surefire false path designed to waste time we don't have time to waste.

Saturn has just dipped into the early Via Combusta degrees of Libra and gone retrograde. Until June 12, we're doing backtrack restructuring of the relationships (and relationship issues) that have come into focus since October 22, 2010, post-cardinal t-square summer. Things shifted in a big way this past summer. They got very real very quickly. And during this retrograde, we work on getting our legs solidly under us with the partnerships we find present in our lives after the dust has settled.

Jupiter is back in Aries, heading to its final incendiary square to Pluto in Capricorn February 25, and the themes stirred this past summer of movement, forging out way out of the muck, dynamism, action, new territory and survival in the face of brutal Pluto in Capricorn corpo-governmental oligarchy intensify.

There is a necessity here to work together with those compatible with us in whatever ways will catalyze win-win forward progress, especially along structured career lines.

Banking on glossy potentials and wished-for outcomes remains perilous. Concrete, here-and-now, show me my return on investment.

The themes of the most recent Venus retrograde through the Via Combusta degrees of Scorpio and late Libra also remain potent until May/June 2012 when Venus retrogrades again in Gemini.

Because Saturn is in Libra and Venus is considered by most to be the ruling planet of Libra, Venus' transits through the signs until October 2012 add a crucial layer of influence to our successful dealings with Saturn in Libra. Venus in whatever sign it is transiting is referred to as the dispositor of Saturn in Libra.

Regardless of the sign Venus is transiting, though, until the next Venus retrograde in Gemini, the overarching thematic flavour of our relationship work has been set to "Scorpionic deep" and "cut the crap." There is a necessary ruthlessness here, a clarifying realism, with an impetus to intricately rebalance and restructure especially the subtle energetic and vibrational levels of relationship.

We're working for and carving out a new level of justice - energetic justice - in our relationships "related to the hidden energy exchange (Scorpio) between the sexes, which includes money as well as misuses of sexual energy. Huge issues, culturally reinforced for millenia."

Scorpio is a healing energy. It intuitively knows where the trouble is and gets right to work, divining and digging to trigger multi-layered release points. It isn't just treating symptoms, either. Scorpio knows it's either go deep or go home, and it puts forth immense stores of energy to go to the mat for people, driving right to the root of the problems that keep them locked up, inauthentic, programmed, and less effective than they could otherwise be.

Scorpio digs the poisoned thorns out - and if it's masterful enough, it gets them all.

But Scorpio's mastery is also it's downfall. Here's where the betrayal aspect of the sign comes into play. Scorpio is a liberating energy, an almost magical transformer of all things oppressive and stagnant and intolerable - and its emotional, psychological and psychic currency is woefully undervalued. Quite often, it's used and abused with little to nothing offered in return. It's left holding the bag with nowhere left to put the shit.

What Scorpio does is mostly in the energetic realms, and because so few people have developed the sight to see this type of energy work, people take it and run. Often, they take it and run right back into the same unhealthy patterns and dynamics Scorpio was expending so much energy to extricate them from in the first place.

Moving out of the ass-burning, should-have-known-better depleting and into the vital and mutually sustaining. Choosing carefully when and how to apply the potent Scorp medicine. Determining the most worthy recipients - and ensuring they are ready and willing to take full responsibility for what is given. This is Scorpio territory, and this is a major theme embedded in our Saturn in Libra relationship work.

"We're in the midst of a five-year gutting, restructuring and energetic rebalancing process in relationship that will not reach ultimate completion until the end of a period of mutual reception between Saturn in Scorpio and Pluto in Capricorn when Saturn leaves Scorpio September 2015...Our collective progress out of the Pluto in Capricorn rubble hinges on the successful rebalancing and restructuring of relationship constructs and dynamics, especially related to the ways men and women interact."

So all these tricky, winding, hidden dynamics are being brought back into play for a Saturnine sober second look during the Saturn retrograde in Libra.

We've got a blazing opportunity now until spring of 2012, infused by the Via Combusta Venus retro, to forge through and beyond complex layers of relationship dynamic detritus and half-decayed constructs that will constrain us, keeping us from the love that will truly nourish and sustain, if we allow it.

The Personal Planets in Scorpio Work Their Magic on the Era-Shifting Mutual Reception and Fighting for the Right to See Through Our Own Eyes

What dead fish? I don't see any dead fish.

So they think the Age of the Fishies is over already, eh? All cleaned up. Nothing left to see.

There was a massive fish kill September 10, 2010 in the Bayou Chaland area of Plaquemines Parish, Louisiana as well as two additional fish kills over a span of eight days in nearby areas that were also heavily oiled during the Deepwater Horizon oil spill.

The only thing that smells worse than that many dead fish is BP and the U.S. government's official story...

A statement issued by the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) released the day after the Bayou Chaland fish kill stated the fish died from low oxygen levels unrelated to the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. According to P.J. Hahn, the Director of the Coastal Zone Management Department, the LDWF came to this conclusion without taking any water or fish samples of the area.

Hahn collected his own samples of water and fish, and early independent testing found that (surprise, surprise) the fish had oil in their gills and liver.

Here's the climate as Mars in Scorpio finishes squaring off with Neptune-Chiron retrograde in Aquarius and trining Jupiter-Uranus retrograde in Pisces - and as Pluto, Ceres and the North Node form a potent conjunction in early Capricorn pushing awareness of the corporate corruption of our environment and food supply to the surface.

A robotic, manipulated, insane official explanation that defies all basic, human logic - and the requirement to shrug that off and dig for the real story ourselves.

Getting beneath the permeating official line created by such crafty manipulators of the collective ethers takes all our skill, determination and courage.

Tearing multi-layered masks off the soft-lit illusions that persistently work to keep people enmeshed in insane constructs not their own is a step-by-step process requiring us to go slowly and carefully, countering every official line with raw, gut-level Scorpionic authenticity - and research.

Digging deeper, holding stronger and truer, scraping back the glossy veneer and the sounds-too-good-to-be-true every time the prescribed Neptunian easy out breezes in and attempts to sway our opinions.

As the public is lulled back into that wounding Neptunian false sense of comfort and complacency, believing, incorrectly, that it's all over now and we just need to "move forward" (where have we heard that one before?), the Sun, Mercury, Venus retrograde and the asteroid Vesta also move through the murky Scorpionic bayous, fixed on digging us out. These bodies in Scorpio will also square Neptune-Chiron Rx in Aquarius and trine Jupiter-Uranus Rx in Pisces, putting in check the siren song pull into skimming over, cutting corners, emotional detachment, letting the 'officials' deal with it, and blind faith in the future (or in future generations) to save us.

Scorpio wants us right here. Right in the thick of it. No squirming out of reach. No looking the other way. Dig down under all that fake sand that has been trucked in to the beaches of Florida, and you'll find all kinds of toxic muck.

Two research vessels have found vast amounts of oil in samples dug up from the seafloor around the Macondo well site.

Kevin Yeager, a University of Southern Mississippi assistant professor of marine sciences and chief scientist on the research trip, said in an article in USA Today that the oil found in samples ranged from light degraded oil to thick raw crude.

"Clearly, there appears to be vast volumes of oil present on the seafloor," Yeager said. "We saw considerable evidence of it."

This, of course, blows claims made by the U.S. government that the oil had largely dispersed and disappeared right out of the toxic water - if we really required 'scientific evidence' to know that that was a false statement. BP and the U.S. government also claim that Corexit has not been used in the Gulf since mid-July. Local residents, however, report it being sprayed into early October.

An October 10 video from Denise Rednour of Long Beach, Mississippi shows dead jellyfish and tarballs as well as the now all-too-familiar froth of Corexit mixed with oil washing up on the shore and creating vicious vapours. This makes the official claim about the discontinued use of Corexit hard to believe.

A similar October 18 video shows large fish washing up dead along the shore of a public beach at Grand Isle, Louisiana, with some sort of official workers dutifully burying the evidence. This video shows the same frothy pools of Corexit washing up along with the fish.

A follow-up video a few days later shows tar balls washing ashore along with dead snails and jellyfish - but the large fish have been removed from sight.

According to Tulane University post-doctoral researcher and marine biologist Erin Grey, eighty percent of blue crab larvae samples collected by her organization from an area of the Gulf stretching from Louisiana to Florida showed evidence of oily orange droplets that tested positive for hydrocarbons.

Harriet Perry, a biologist with the University of Southern Mississippi’s Gulf Coast Research Laboratory, has also reported that many of the crab larvae collected by her university have had the distinctive orange oil droplets inside. Perry says that in 42 years of studying crabs, she has never seen anything like it and that 40 percent of the area the crabs are known to inhabit has been affected by oil from the spill.

And yet the U.S. government still insists Gulf seafood is safe to eat, reopening a 3,000 square mile area of the Gulf to fishing and shrimping south of the Mississippi Delta in early October after "sniff testing" - again, no tissue sampling - just three samples of shrimp from a 1,000 square mile area. No testing for heavy metals, no testing for dispersant.

The local fisherman are being forced to sign a waiver stating that if they sell tainted seafood and someone gets sick from eating it, they will be held legally responsible.

In Louisiana, Byron Encalade, the President of the Louisiana Oysterman Association, says the oysters have not spawned, leaving the status of the industry a complete unknown for years to come.

In Tallahassee, Florida, a woman found oil in oysters she purchased at a seafood store. After several recent deaths from Vibrio vulnificus, a flesh-eating bacteria (also played up as the bacteria that eats oil) often found in oyster beds, researchers are studying how the oil disaster could possibly be increasing the abundance and virulence of these bacteria.

Florida's Department of Health is warning people to avoid eating raw oysters and exposing open wounds to seawater and estuarine water.

People are sick, physically and mentally. Millions will potentially be affected. There is no long-term understanding of what this much Corexit mixed with this much oil will do to the ecosystem or to the people living within range of it. Currently, people are debilitated by respiratory problems, headaches, nausea, rashes, exhaustion, tremors, flu-like symptoms, internal bleeding, depression and other mental illnesses. There are reports of diminished lung capacities, dissolving esophaguses, unexplained deaths. The Corexit is burning holes through people's skin. Doctors in the area are diagnosing scabies. None of it is related to the oil disaster, they say. And none of this passes the Scorpio stellium sniff test.

We're in the territory of the zodiac where our actions are soul-informed, where we're moving by feel through the pitch dark, lovingly whispered to (with the Scorpio planets trining Jupiter-Uranus in Pisces) by all those who have experienced this before. At the root, this struggle has always been the same.

Rooting out and exposing that which works to manipulate, injure, abuse and destroy us on this planet has always been this hard - harder.

The web of damage and destruction cuts a broad swath, desperately deep. Impossible to keep on top of the full flood of information, of the extent of the corruption and dirty dealings through time and space. As Agent Orange and napalm morph into depleted uranium and GMOs and chemtrails. As Chevron's Rainforest Chernobyl in Equador's Amazon rainforest morphs into British Petroleum's horror show in the Gulf of Mexico. As guns and batons morph into sonic weaponry. As chemical warfare morphs into cyber and electromagnetic and weather wars.

But we dig down deep because we know we're here now for a reason. We dig into our precious soul reserves and emanate from there, holding that energy, so valuable, and guarding it carefully, jealously. We've got just enough to get us through, despite the grieving and loss that saps us, if we use these reserves wisely. Mature Scorpio conserves its energy and uses it in the most potent and effective ways. So we step gingerly and cautiously and shrewdly as we tend to our shocked beings, dealing with the evaporation of big chunks of previous lives and selves, missing dearly what we've had to leave behind to get here. And those who have left.

As the official line bullshit flies fast and furious, coaxing and loving us up and into its waiting arms, we have to trust our own eyes, our own insight, our own body knowledge and gut checks and sneaking suspicions above all else - and act on them. Finding that internal root truth in all situations, going beyond what those people on the flashing picture box tell us. Seeing through the carefully crafted images zipping by with the slick and pretty official words telling us what it all means.

Easier said than done, though.

We're in a time when the feminine knowledge, the internal, the intuitive, what we just KNOW is generally ridiculed, downplayed, scoffed at by those invested in the reinforcement of the mainstream constructs. We have to be willing to trust it even though it may make us the ridiculed, downplayed, scoffed at. To hone it until there are no skipped steps, no leaps in logic, no sabotaging blinders - only pure guidance, potent and implicitly trustworthy in every moment.

I was recently told by a mainstream science and government-touting dude regarding water fluoridation that "the plural of anecdote is not evidence." Basically, he was saying that individual experience does not make scientific "evidence." And I think of what's going on in the Gulf right now and how dangerous that sentiment really is. How dangerous that sentiment always is, actually. What a sad, sad statement when the real experiences of human beings are passed over as unimportant or untrustworthy for the opinions of government and scientific and spiritual employees of the hierarchies who are often just observing those experiences and coming up with bought-and-paid-for spin.

Can I prove the correlation between a nearby oil flare, radio tower and industrial farming chemicals and a cluster of cancer cases and autoimmune disorders around my family farm? More than likely not. But I know the correlation exists.

Can I prove that it's unhealthy to live within 100 kilometres of one of three nuclear-armed-to-the-teeth United States Intercontinental Ballistic Missile armed forces sites?

Can mothers having babies born with deformities and birth defects from Agent Orange exposure THEIR parents experienced 'prove' that correlation?

Can we prove an environmental correlation between the toxic chemical cocktail in our air, water, soil, food, water and the cancer epidemic? Or with the rise in things like fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue, Alzheimer's, depression, ADHD?

Can Native people with rare cancers in northern Alberta prove that it's exposure to the toxic oilsands causing it?

Can we prove that it's the Corexit burning holes in people's skin in the Gulf of Mexico?

Will people be able to prove that their health problems ten or twenty years from now are related to the Gulf disaster?

Can people in Alaska, post-Exxon Valdez disaster?

Am I able to prove to pharmaceuticals-brainwashed doctors or to the mainstream-science-worshipping public that my health problems are a result of a highly dangerous fluoroquinolone antibiotic that should not be prescribed for minor infections? Even with thousands, probably tens of thousands, of other people reporting the same adverse effects?

To the stringent (ahem) scientific standards of the day, probably not. But it's getting more and more insane not to see the connections. Isn't it, Scorpio? And again, I'm reminded of the purposeful training of people to look to the "official authority figure" - whether it be government, science or the next New Age "voice of our times." It's all the same machine, keeping people controlled and in line, believing what they are told to believe. Keeping them within the false veneers of pyramid-scheme hierarchies and away from the authentic potency points we need to hit in order to truly shift this shitshow.

Mars in Scorpio Square Neptune-Chiron in Aquarius and Demolishing Some Faulty Bridges

Mmm. The water looks inviting, doesn't it? Just remember. No diving in. That glacial iciness will tear the life out of you.

As Mars in Scorpio squares Neptune-Chiron in Aquarius (exact October 22 during our 29th degree Aries Full Moon), it's time for another round of Deconstructing the New Age Meme Complex! *crowd cheers*

I really am tired of this game, folks, but once you've proven yourself an able contestant, they ask you back again and again...

So onto our show.

Neptune and Chiron in Aquarius are currently on the degree of the famed 'triple Aquarius conjunction' involving Neptune, Aquarius and Jupiter in the spring of 2009. There was an attempt to implant and anchor plenty of bullshit during that time as far as the direction into Aquarius, and now with Venus retrograde in Scorpio and a contingent of other planets and bodies in the sign creating ongoing squares over the next three months, we have a chance to dig it up, layer-by-layer.

The New Age beast is certainly morphing and replicating at record speed these days, desperate to make the leap - to cross the bridge, if you will - to sustain itself into Aquarius. It's a frenzied scrabble to the finish line, and as always, the hidden, embedded nature of it is being brought to the surface via Scorpio.

As I've said before, it's funny how those declaring themselves 'enlightened' and 'awakened' are the same people unconsciously promoting and reinforcing this form of spiritual fascism - all while vehemently denying doing so.

I've written about the 'edgy' brand of New Ager previously - developed as a predictable reaction to the love and light bliss bunny type.

And today, in honour of Saturn in Libra disposited by Venus retrograde in Scorpio, I'd like to talk about the 'bridge' New Ager, a variation on the theme claiming to be bridging 'light' and 'dark.'

Both edgy and bridge variations are similar in tone. Both declare to be too cool and aware of the 'dark' side of things for New Age status - yet both promote and reinforce the New Age paradigm through energy, ideology, and words. Listen closely. You'll hear the same jargon, the same idioms, and you'll see them funnel energy into the same New Age energetic pyramid schemes.

Both eschew the traditional New Age guru (old news!) yet subtly promote hierarchy of consciousness and those supposedly at the top of that hiearchy (they pretty much all want to be).

Both reject mainstream New Age standards like The Secret as hokey or low brow yet reinforce the "creating your own reality," "manifesting abundance," "raising your vibration," and "enlightenment/ascension/awakening" memes, among others.

Despite protestations, both varieties are firmly entrenched in the New Age meme complex. Controlled opposition at its finest.

And while differentiating themselves and voicing their surface critiques of the New Age paradigm, they remain firmly within its folds, furthering its objectives and using the collected stolen energy to buoy and sustain themselves beyond the "common herd." They know what signs their paycheques - energetically and/or financially - and they're careful not to cross any lines. Membership has its cosy, buffering privileges, and they never even come close to the root truth with their critiques.

But you see how tricky things are getting here, how embedded and subtle things are getting. You see how strong that Scorpionic X-Ray vision has to be.

The gut feelings are not as strong when the poison has been diluted so carefully and the presentation is so slick and glossy direct-marketed.

In order to make the leap into Aquarius, the New Age paradigm needs fresh blood. And appealing to those labelled with a 'darker' awareness of human reality on this planet seems just the ticket, just the bridge, to do so.

One false aspect of this appeal to the supposed darker side of things, among many, is the fundamental manipulation and misrepresentation of their concepts of light and dark. The very concepts of light and dark they use exist under the New Age umbrella, so both edgy and bridge New Agers are working with the corrupted language, concepts, and energy of that paradigm.

A major issue is the demonization of 'the dark.' (Did I mention most of the New Age is made up of socially privileged white people?)

In the New Age paradigm, dark is generally synonymous with bad or evil and light is synonymous with good. Yes, they're now cosying up to the concept of 'dark,' but underlying the ideology, this is still so. The ultimate goal is to 'transcend the dark' and to move things back into the 'light' - their New Age version of light.

The same construct is applied to negative and positive - negative is bad/evil/unenlightened and positive is good/"high vibrating"/enlightened.

In nature, of course, this is not the case. Dark and light co-exist, just as negative and positive charges co-exist. They're yin and yang. The Sun rises every day and the world is light; it goes down every night and the world becomes moonlit dark.

Within much of the New Age understanding of energy dynamics and what is going on on the planet, there is a polarized battle going on between light and dark in which the goal is for the 'lightworkers' or the enlightened ones to raise the consciousness of the common herd to the point where 'the light' is victorious over 'the dark.' The dark (again, made synonymous with evil) is something to be overcome, consumed, stamped out by the light and those supposedly carrying more of it.

This paradigm keeps spiritual egos well fed about how much more enlightened and aware and privy to the inside scoop the followers are since they know "both sides" of the story. How it's their SERVICE and their DUTY to raise the consciousness of the masses to match that of their own on both false light and false dark ends of the spectrum.

(Speaking on behalf of the 'common herd': No, thanks.)

This dark/light polarization and the supposed battle between the two is a paradigm set up by and for the New Age. It's a manipulation of energy for its own ends - the siphoning and stealing of individual's spiritual energy, authentic experience, and power.

Words are powerful. Words have energy. Words catalyze events and changes. Those behind the New Age and behind all other hierarchical control mechanisms know this.

New Age was originally set up with a language of its own - certain key words and phrases that could be spoken, like a secret handshake, so that members could identify each other on the down low. So make no mistake: to this day, the New Age language and terminology are very important in the recognition of others of this paradigm, in the spread of these memes, and in the drawing of fresh blood into this pseudo-spiritual pyramid scheme. The New Age language and voice has an energy all its own, and once you can identify it, there's no mistaking it, despite the ever-more-subtle applications.

The implanting of certain idioms, catch phrases, and concepts has always been a major part of the spread of New Age. This is an implanting of manipulated energy. They call it "raising consciousness." I call it energy-stealing lobotomizing.

The diluting of the power of language is a major part of the control mechanism.

Specific words voicing specific aspects of our authentic experience as human beings on this planet are needed to create the changes we need to see. The watered down, cliched NewAgeSpeak is very effective in keeping people from the real potency points, especially related to the more difficult aspects of human experience. This, in turn, allows the power of the so-called 'darker' energies to be used by the few against the many with little censure.

So while working within this same New Age paradigm and speaking its language, the bridges these individuals are trying to forge are really not entering any new territory at all. It's energy being moved around for the same ends, being fed into the same end goals. More tail-chasing.

These self-declared bridge creators are trying to build bridges in thin air that have no right even existing, using common ground that is not there and applying their paradigm in a blanket way over people who do not care to be brought into their fold, who do not care to be "bridged." And who would not agree with what they intend to have coming across those bridges.

As the personal planets pass through alchemical Scorpio, we have the ability to accept and integrate the forces of light and dark, yin and yang, negative and positive within ourselves and within our relations with others. We can understand the power and purpose of both light and dark, working in partnership just as they do in nature, and harness the power of this for use in our own ways - to bring about the changes we need to experience on this planet.

New Age control of 'the dark' keeps people from a real understanding and integration of those energies - both in the individual and in the larger societies. Segmenting and co-opting the 'darker' energies and making them New Age-trendy keeps people unable to identify and work with these energies in an effective way in themselves and in their lives.

Because so many who have been enveloped into New Age have spent most of their time denying, fearing, or manipulating the dark, the skills are not there to go as deeply as we need to go en masse. The New Age paradigm just does not allow for it.

And so we get the skimming by and glossing over that are so prevalent. With Mars, Eros, Venus Rx and Vesta following Pallas Athene's tracks in Scorpio along with the strategic feminine positioning of the asteroids, skimming by and glossing over just don't cut it. Those times have long passed.

A self-serving blanket apology with no responsibility taken for the behaviours and disregard that made the apology necessary in the first place. A Psych 101 textbook analysis while glossing over the real underlying issues. A motivation not to make amends and do right but to free oneself from any responsibility, to absolve oneself without any personal change required. A public manipulation. Serial misuse and ill treatment of the feminine, of a woman, of women. A misuse of another's energy to strengthen oneself and achieve certain personal goals with nothing of value returned.

The Divine Feminine is not buying it, and neither am I.

That's one bridge I'm not interested in crossing.

- "Kali is free from the illusory covering, for she is beyond all maya or 'false consciousness.'" -
