Ceres in Aries Triggering the Uranus-Pluto Square: the Goddess of Grains in a Gluten-Free World

Earth Mama dwarf planet Ceres is currently in late Aries in tight conjunction to stationing Uranus and in loose square to Pluto in Capricorn. In other words, the Goddess of grains, agriculture, and the fertility of the Earth is triggering the Uranus-Pluto square.

Ceres moved retrograde into late Aries in mid-October, and it stationed direct, tightly conjunct Uranus, on December 8, 2016.

Ceres and Uranus are still in that tight conjunction as Uranus now prepares to station direct at 20 degrees Aries on December 28.

This is an indicator that food, agriculture, and nourishment themes - especially those that are new in human history - are being electrified and shaken up. This is also an indicator that an immediate and perhaps radical change in course may be required in these areas, and it likely needs to be self-directed.

Ceres in Aries in general indicates a battle (Aries) regarding our nourishment (Ceres) that may also involve human rights and genetics.

Uranus is an indicator of technology, including biotechnology, and the insidious introduction of genetically modified (GM) foods into the general food supply is one area being lit up by this Ceres-Uranus conjunction.

The results of yet another animal feeding trial were recently released (under this Ceres-Uranus conjunction) that indicate health damage in lab rats fed a diet of GM Bt corn. This is corn that has been genetically modified to have insecticide built right into the plants, and it is grown widely in Canada and the United States.

The Egyptian study showed that after only 90 days, the intestines of the lab rats were damaged by diets of this corn:

"In the GM-fed rats, some areas of the villi – finger-like structures in the intestine that absorb nutrients from food – were damaged. They were distorted and flattened, with some cells joined together. The damage can clearly be seen in the images included in the study. The crypts (mucosal glands) were disrupted and blood vessels were congested. Signs of inflammation – white blood cell infiltration – were seen around areas of damage. In addition, the cells of the intestinal lining were abnormal in structure.

Other signs of damage included increased shedding of mucosal cells, increased numbers of mucous-secreting goblet cells, and higher rates of division of cells lining the crypts."

(Source: Claire Robinson, gmwatch.org)

This was the third Egyptian feeding trial study that showed health damage in rats fed GM Bt corn. The first study showed changes in organs, blood biochemistry, and body weights. The second study showed toxic effects on the liver and kidneys, as well as damage to the intestines.

USDA: You're on Your Own Against Monsanto, Farmers!

The first case of natural alfalfa contamination by a genetically modified variety was reported by a farmer in Washington state in September 2013. The farmer’s alfalfa crop was rejected for export because, without his knowledge or intention, it was found to contain genetically modified material from Monsanto’s Roundup Ready GM alfalfa variety.

Because many countries worldwide have banned genetically modified seeds, crops, and foods, including the European Union, any crop found to contain GM material will be rejected for export.

The Washington farmer complained to the United States Department of Agriculture, which has just responded with an “it’s not our problem” stance on the issue. The USDA claims the unintentional contamination of the natural alfalfa crop, as well as the resulting loss of markets and non-GM food security, are a “commercial issue” that must be dealt with in the marketplace.

In other words, we approved GM alfalfa unconditionally amidst huge opposition, we approved it against your will, but now that it's contaminating your crops and adversely affecting your livelihoods, you’re on your own against Monsanto, farmers!

The United States Department of Agriculture, under the Biotechnology Industry Association's Governor of the Year, Tom Vilsack, approved the commercial sale and planting of genetically modified alfalfa unconditionally in 2011 amidst huge opposition from farmers and citizens.

It has been planted in the United States for three growing seasons now, and we are just starting to hear the stories of unwanted contamination.

Farmers and citizens who understand plants and agriculture know that the contamination of the natural alfalfa crop is inevitable with the widespread sale and growth of genetically modified varieties. Alfalfa is a feral perennial (grows back year-after-year). In other words, it grows and spreads like a weed. In fact, if a farmer does not want alfalfa in his or her field, it is very difficult to get rid of. Alfalfa is pollinated by wind, bees, and animals. Because of this, it is impossible to contain the spread of GM alfalfa, including with so-called buffer fields between GM and non-GM crops.

Alfalfa is a staple livestock feed. It is used as fertilizer in organic agriculture. It is also often grown during the three-year transition period from conventional to organic farming. In other words, there are many avenues by which alfalfa finds its way into the human diet.

The opposition to GM alfalfa in Canada has so far held off its planting and growth in this country. However, a Wisconsin-based company, Forage Genetics, plans to sell Monsanto's Roundup Ready GM alfalfa in Ontario and Quebec as soon as it can.

Farmers in Ontario recently made a request of the Ontario provincial government to do an environmental assessment on GM alfalfa before its commercial sale and planting were approved in the province. The Ontario government has just announced its refusal to do that assessment.

This echoes the stance from most provinces in Canada: it's a federal government matter, none of our concern.

The Federal government in Canada, of course, is led by the Harper Conservatives, a group of "free" market, corporate-loving neo-conservatives that is as pro-GMO as you can get. Safeguards will not be forthcoming.

Major Health and Safety Concerns Raised by Studies of GM Diets on Animals in 2012 and 2013

* An unprecedented animal feeding trial found in 2012 that laboratory rats fed genetically modified corn as well as glyphosate residue - the primary ingredient in Monsanto's herbicide Roundup - developed high incidences of tumours, multiple organ damage, and premature death.

The results of the GM feeding trial were published September 19, 2012 in the scientific journal "Food and Chemical Toxicology." The peer-reviewed study was conducted by a team of scientists led by biologist and endocrinologist Gilles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caen in France. The study was attacked vociferously as flawed by other scientists and biotechnology groups. Despite the uproar, the "Food and Chemical Toxicology" journal, a major journal on toxiciology, refused to retract the study.

The trial studied the long-term effects of exposure to NK603 GM corn (Monsanto's Roundup Ready variety) and glyphosate - individually and combined - on the health of rats over two years.

The study found that even exposure to levels considered "safe" resulted in severe negative health effects in the animals:

- Of the rats fed GM corn or glyphosate residue, 50% of males and 70% of females died prematurely. This was compared to 30% and 20% respectively in the control group.
- Female rats developed fatal mammary tumours and pituitary disorders. Males developed liver damage, kidney and skin tumours and had problems with their digestive systems.
- Rats fed GM corn or Roundup residues developed two to three times more tumours than the control group.

The study found that ingestion of GM corn and glyphosate caused similar damage in the rats whether consumed separately or together. Even the lowest doses of GM corn and glyphosate, touted as safe by industry, were associated with severe health problems.

Previous studies have produced similar findings, but this was the first ever feeding trial done over the course of the entire lifespan of a laboratory rat - two years.
Despite the fact that lab rats live only two years, no genetically modified animal feeding trials have been done up to this point for longer than 90 days. Genetically modified seeds/foods were rushed onto the market in Canada and the United States without any longer-term studies on potential effects.
The majority of the tumours and devastating health effects that developed with the rats in the Seralini study were detected after 18 months, which means that prior GM testing done over 90 days would not have discovered them.
* In 2013, the results of a five-month feeding study done on just-weaned pigs were released in the "Organic Systems Journal." The study, conducted by lead researcher Judy Carman of Flinders University in Australia, found that a diet of genetically modified corn and soy produced severe stomach inflammation in the pigs, as well as enlargement of the uteruses in female pigs, indicating both digestive and reproductive damage from GM diets.
Carman said that pigs were used in the feeding study because their digestive systems are similar to those of human beings.
Carman is calling for further long-term animal feeding studies on GM foods before they continue to be commercially planted and ingested by humans.
* Also in 2013, the results of a study on glyphosate excretion in the urine of Danish dairy cattle were released. The study, led by Dr. Monica Kruger, looked at 240 dairy cattle from eight different dairy farms in Denmark. It found that glyphosate was being excreted in varying amounts by all the cattle. Blood tests showed toxicity, with a particular effect on liver and muscle cells. The conclusion of this study was that glyphosate is toxic to the metabolism of dairy cattle.

Roundup is currently the world's most popular and widely-used herbicide. Its global usage is set to double by 2017, according to Global Industry Analysts of San Jose, California.

So despite these dire feeding trial results, which, at the very least, indicate further animal feeding trials are necessary before GM crops continue to be planted and ingested, governments at all levels in the United States and Canada steamroll on with the pro-GMO agenda.

The current focus among members of the public is the labeling of GM products on store shelves.

While this is certainly a good step, this type of labeling does not address the unknown and unintentional contamination of foods by GMOs.

We can label foods we know are GM. We can label foods we know have been produced with genetically modified ingredients.

However, we can't label foods that have been unknowingly or unintentionally contaminated by GMOs.

This unknown and unintentional contamination is the real key with GM alfalfa, which is, again, a feral perennial plant that grows and spreads like a weed, pollinated by wind, bees, and animals.

Our food supply is being insidiously, invisibly contaminated by GMOs. This is going on without the public's full knowledge or consent.

Animal feeding trial results released in 2012 and 2013 indicate strong connections between GM diets and tumours, organ damage, digestive problems, reproductive damage, and premature death.

We are being failed on multiple levels by both government and industry. Both these groups tout "the science" in their blind acceptance and promotion of genetically modified crops. But the science they are using is incomplete and terribly outdated.

These bodies that claim to keep us safe from harmful products are turning a blind eye to the solid science showing major concerns with a GM diet for both animals and humans.

Now is the time for all concerned citizens to raise their voices on this issue:

Stop GM alfalfa in Canada and Worldwide!

Ceres Enters Leo After Kicking Butt on GMO Food Issues Around the World

Ceres enters Leo June 22 after an extended transit of Cancer, and the things that nourish us most deeply shift from Cancerian things (home, family, roots, familiarity, food, comfort) to Leonine things (fun, play, style, art, drama, kids).

How much do we need this shift? A whole lot, I'd say.

Ceres is the dwarf planet related to agriculture, grains, and the fertility of the Earth, and during its transit of Cancer, Ceres took part in an extremely hardcore cardinal t-square with Uranus in Aries and Pluto in Capricorn, just as Uranus and Pluto formed their third exact square May 20.

I'm not a predictive astrologer, but I did correctly predict, with the strong Ceres influence, that food and agriculture issues - particularly GMO issues - would be huge, at the make-or-break point, by planting time this spring.

From a November 8, 2012 article:

"Agriculture-related dwarf planet Ceres stationed retrograde at 3 degrees Cancer on October 31 within a cardinal Grand Cross with Venus in Libra, Uranus in Aries, and Pluto in Capricorn.

This configuration brings food and agriculture issues to prominence, particularly as they relate to increased corporate globalization (Pluto in Capricorn) and the direction into biotechnology (Uranus in Aries).

Ceres maintains its strong influence into mid-2013, forming a cardinal t-square May 5-7 that will still be within orb during the third Uranus in Aries - Pluto in Capricorn square May 20, 2013.

These are high stakes times for the future of food and, correspondingly, for life on this planet.

And nowhere are those high stakes more visible than in the realm of natural versus genetically modified seeds and foods."

These are some of the extremely high stakes GMO-related events that took place with Ceres in Cancer within cardinal t-square this spring:

- It was recently announced by the Canadian Biotechnology Action Network that, despite widespread public opposition, the Canadian Food Inspection Agency has approved a variety of Monsanto's RoundUp Ready GM alfalfa for commercial sale and growth in Canada.

Monsanto's genetically modified alfalfa was first released in January 2011 in the United States by a pro-Monsanto FDA and Department of Agriculture. It was scheduled to be commercially sold in Ontario and Quebec, Canada, by Wisconsin-based Forage Genetics as early as spring of 2013, under the Ceres-Uranus-Pluto t-square. All that was required was a rubber stamp approval of the GM seeds by the Canadian government - which it has now reportedly received.

This means it is now legal to sell and grow untested, unproven genetically modified alfalfa seed commercially in Canada. Forage Genetics and others have the green light.

It is also impossible to know if other varieties of GM alfalfa have been or will be approved, as the approval process is kept secret from the public.

Currently, Canada's alfalfa crop is GMO-free and mostly unsprayed. Since alfalfa is a feral perennial, cross-pollination by GM alfalfa would be impossible to contain, and contamination of the natural crop would be absolutely devastating. Because alfalfa is used primarily as animal feed, the spread of GM alfalfa could potentially contaminate all meat and animal products. But because alfalfa is used as a fertilizer and foundational building block of the entire organic agricultural system, contamination by GM alfalfa could mean the literal end of any certified organic food at all.

Mercury Rx Re-Post Part Three: First Ever Long-Term Animal Feeding Trial of GMOs Produces Alarming Results

The common line on genetically modified seeds and foods - repeated ad nauseum in mainstream media, by industry, and by government - is that they have been tested and have been proven to have no ill effect on animal, human, or ecosystem health.

This is simply not correct.

Aside from the fact that the longest feeding trials up to this point have been 90 days (inadequate), many, many studies have found problematic health links to GMOs.

The results of the first ever two-year GMO animal feeding trials, the "Seralini study," were published in September 2012 when Ceres was on 28/29 degrees Gemini. Ceres is now moving back to those degrees just in time for the 2013 spring planting season in Canada and the U.S., and it's time for the results of this study to hit the public mind (Gemini) in a much bigger (Jupiter) way.

From September 21, 2012: Ceres in Gemini, Food Issues in the Media, and Unprecedented GM Feeding Trials Produce Horrifying (Though Unsurprising) Results

Asteroid of grains, cereals, and the fertility of the Earth, Ceres, is finishing its transit of Mercury-ruled Gemini, and information about food that could sway public opinion is potent. Ceres moves into Cancer September 26 but retrogrades back into Gemini December 4 until April 5, 2013.

An unprecedented animal feeding trial has found that lab rats fed genetically modified corn as well as glyphosate residue - the primary ingredient in Monsanto's herbicide Roundup - developed high incidences of tumours, multiple organ damage, and premature death.

Photo of rats with tumours released by the Seralini study scientists.

The results of the GM feeding trial were published September 19, 2012 in the scientific journal "Food and Chemical Toxicology." The peer-reviewed study was conducted by a team of scientists led by biologist and endocrinologist Gilles-Eric Seralini of the University of Caen in France.

The trial studied the long-term effects of exposure to NK603 GM corn (Monsanto's Roundup Ready variety) and glyphosate - individually and combined - on the health of rats over two years.

Previous studies have produced similar findings, but this was the first ever feeding trial done over the course of the entire lifespan of a laboratory rat - two years.

Yes, folks. Despite the fact that lab rats live only two years, no genetically modified animal feeding trials have been done up to this point for longer than 90 days. Genetically modified seeds/foods have been rushed onto the market in Canada and the United States without any longer-term studies on potential effects. The majority of the tumours that developed on the rats were detected after 18 months, which means that prior GM testing done over 90 days would not have discovered them.

Monsanto's Roundup Ready corn (NK603 variety) has been genetically modified to withstand its glyphosate-based herbicide Roundup. You'll recall that Monsanto is the corporation that has also brought us such wondrous improvements to the human condition as: Agent Orange, DDT, saccharin, PCBs, bovine growth hormones, and Aspartame. Monsanto has bullied and sued farmers around the world over the use of its patented seeds. The corporation is directly responsible for suicides among hundreds of thousands of Indian farmers who went into debt to buy Monsanto seeds with the promise of magical yields that did not materialize.

The growth and sale of genetically modified corn, including Monsanto's Roundup Ready variety, were approved in Canada in 2001. People have been unknowingly ingesting genetically modified material in their corn products since then.

According to Patricia Reimer, a Manitoba organic inspector I spoke to for a story last year about genetically modified alfalfa, corn has become widely contaminated by genetically modified strains. There is no separation of GM and non-GM corn, soybeans, or canola in the food system, outside the organic system. What this means is that unless you are eating certified organic corn, soy, or canola, there is a high likelihood that you are eating at least some genetically modified material. Even organic products cannot be guaranteed 100% GM-free at this point.

Genetically modified sweet corn has now come onto grocery shelves in Canada and the U.S. in order to test the waters. Corn is also used in corn syrup - a product used in many processed foods.

Roundup is currently the world's most popular and widely-used herbicide, and its global usage is set to double by 2017, according to Global Industry Analysts of San Jose, California.

How's that for a horrifying Pluto in Capricorn era fact?

Freedom is Slavery: The "New Energy" Movement, Ethanol, and GMO Corporations

The documentary film Freedom, made by Rebecca and Josh Tickell, was released in the summer of 2011. The film is about alternative fuel sources for transportation, in particular ethanol. It's on Canadian Netflix right now, and my friend just showed it to me the other day. I realize this is old news, but I think it's valid to deconstruct these types of films with Ceres (dwarf planet of grains, cereals, and fertility of the Earth) stationing direct in Gemini (media) and Jupiter in Gemini stationing direct square Chiron-Neptune in Pisces.

Agriculture-related Ceres goes direct at 19 degrees Gemini, conjunct Black Moon Lilith, on February 4, just after the Jupiter station January 30. With the influence of the dark, denied perspective of Black Moon Lilith in Gemini, the underlying manipulators and shapers of personal perspective and public mind are being drawn to the forefront.

With the Gemini-Pisces square highlighted now, this is a good time to deconstruct some of the mind/consciousness control agendas, especially ones with an underlying tone of pseudo-spiritual and an affiliation to agriculture or food.

 From a previous post:

"The use of media to manipulate and shape public perception related to agriculture, food policy, and commodities prices has been a strong theme since a Ceres-Vesta-Jupiter conjunction on the Gemini South Node in July 2012."

The last decan of Gemini has been a very fruitful zone for Ceres. The results of the GM corn/glyphosate animal feeding trial results were published in September 2012, when Ceres was on 28/29 Gemini. Ceres will be back on those degrees March 30 - April 4, just as the 2013 growing season begins. The results of that trial need to be on the minds of every person on this planet this spring.

With Gemini, we're working with information, but information that could have a dual (or multi-layered) purpose. The squares between Jupiter in Gemini and Chiron and Neptune in Pisces increase the chance of deception, manipulation, illusion, and pseudo-spirituality being involved.

So here is some of the information disseminated by Freedom:

Ethanol can be produced quite easily from any plant source. It can even be made from household garbage, and there are companies doing just that.

It's so simple that people can make their own ethanol. Certainly, local areas could produce and distribute their own fuel.

Ethanol could quite easily replace oil and derivatives of oil (gasoline, diesel) in our transportation forms if the political will and the resources were there.

Ethanol is already mixed with most of the gasoline being sold today.

Ethanol can be mixed with regular gasoline in almost any percentage. Currently E10 (10% ethanol, 90% conventional gas) and E15 (15% ethanol, 85% conventional gas) are sold widely. E30 and even E85 are also available at some gas stations.

Vehicles can quite easily be converted to be ethanol-burning. You can buy a kit to convert your vehicle. Ethanol is easier on engines and does not build up in the system.

According to sources in this film, the oil lobby created the backlash against ethanol via mainstream media in the early 2000s. The big claim was that using corn for ethanol would starve people in countries like Africa who counted on those corn imports. According to the sources in this film, that information is incorrect. Only 1% of the corn produced in the United States is meant to be human food, and ethanol production would not divert that variety of corn, they say. To create the ethanol backlash, the oil lobby latched onto one article by one man that said starvation would result from corn-based ethanol production and ran with it. This is how the oil lobby turned public opinion, even environmentalists and green energy proponents, against ethanol.

The truth according to this film is, ethanol from plant sources is a viable option for transportation.

Most countries could grow their own plants and manufacture their own ethanol. Brazil already does.

One of the major problems with the current ethanol quotas is the concept of globalization. Instead of producing enough ethanol for their own countries, Canada and the United States attempt to create a surplus that is sold around the world.

And instead of creating a model for energy self-sufficient countries in other areas of the world, things are set up to create dependence on Canadian or U.S. crops for ethanol.

The primary crop used in the current production of ethanol is corn (though it wouldn't have to be). Within the narrative of Freedom, the push is certainly on for corn-based ethanol as the primary source. It is the most developed ethanol industry at this time. Of the companies currently producing ethanol, corn is by far the most commonly used plant.

In the film Freedom, we see very clearly the hijacked green energy agenda. We see the control of alternative energy sources by the same old cast of corporate/monied characters.

The makers of Freedom interviewed Tom Vilsack, the Secretary of the United States Department of Agriculture. Vilsack is very pro-ethanol. This might seem a refreshing or surprising perspective coming out of the United States' government these days. Until we look a little deeper.

Tom Vilsack is the ex-Governor of Iowa. Iowa is a U.S. corn belt state. It grows a whole lot of corn. Corn is big business.

As might be expected, Vilsack is a major supporter of Monsanto and their genetically modified corn varieties. Recall that these are the same corn varieties that were found, in the feeding trial results published last September, to cause organ damage, tumours, and premature death in lab rats.

Vilsack has made life very easy for Monsanto and for other GMO corporations at both a state level and now a federal level.

Vilsack was named Governor of the Year by the Biotechnology Industry Organization in 2001.

Vilsack, as Secretary of the USDA, announced the unconditional approval of GM alfalfa in January 2011. His agenda is the furthering of agricultural biotechnology. There can be no doubt about that.
