Sun Conjunct Ceres in Taurus Within the Grand Earth Trine Formation

The Sun and Ceres are currently conjunct at 6 degrees Taurus, forming the Grand Earth Trine with Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn that has been at play at various times over the past six months. The Sun-Ceres conjunction separates starting today, but these bodies are within range of the Grand Earth Trine into early May when Mercury enters Taurus, continuing the practical ease and beneficial effects with an almost-exact formation May 13-14.

The Sun-Ceres conjunction in Taurus happens at my midheaven, so I thought I would post some of the Ceres work I've been doing over the past year:

Fuck with Ceres too much, and she has the ability to snuff life out on this planet entirely. This is what they're playing with right now. Still think this is an inconsequential, secondary-at-best influence in the astrological zodiac?"

Saturn Re-Enters A Fixed Star Safe Haven From the Heat of the Via Combusta

Saturn, in its final retrograde in Libra, is currently backing into conjunctions to the highly fortunate fixed stars Arcturus (24 Libra) and Spica (23 Libra) and will be conjunct Spica at the time of the Sun-Venus conjunction and Venus Transit in Gemini June 5/6.

This is good news, as Saturn is transiting an area of the zodiac called the Via Combusta, known to involve great karmic challenge and difficulty, particularly in relationships. Saturn first entered this area of the zodiac in December 2010 and will exit it November 2013.

From a previous post:

"- Willow's Web Astrology on the Via Combusta -

The Via Combusta is an area of the zodiac between 15 degrees Libra and 15 degrees Scorpio (except for 23 and 24 degrees Libra) known as the burning path or combustible way. Traditionally, it is associated with "unfortunate and ineffectual events."

My interpretation of the Via Combusta is humanized and comes from the point-of-view of a person experiencing life with key natal placements in this area.

When the Via Combusta is strongly highlighted, there is a feeling of running the gauntlet through sometimes seemingly insurmountable odds, collective karma, booby traps, and friction, very often related to relationship dynamics, which are Libra and Scorpio territory.

There's a fire in the Via Combusta and within people with a strong Via Combusta signature that keeps them burning, burning, burning a path through life as you would imagine a shooting star burning an accelerated path through the night's sky. There's a feeling here that one has to keep going, no matter what, through the wreckage of old, crystallized layers that would keep us stultified, constricted, and unsatisfied with old wounds perpetually reopened by a revolving cast of characters.

The basic goal of the Via Combusta is to reach escape velocity. In space travel, this is the point a space shuttle reaches when its speed and momentum allow it to escape the effects of gravity pulling it back down to Earth. In the case of the Via Combusta, it's about reaching the points of awareness and pure momentum where we escape the gravity of the sticky, tricky wreckage trying to draw us back into old territory, especially involving old constructs and dynamics of relating.

But with Saturn in the Via Combusta, we have to earn the right to pass. We have to prove that we're mature enough, serious enough, and that we've taken full responsibility for moving on completely, resolving the bits of dramatic charge and the last karmic tendrils that would catch us, tempt us, and drag us back. This is escape velocity for the long-term, under the weight of Saturn."

The 23rd and 24th degrees of Libra are considered the two safe haven degrees of the Via Combusta where its effects are greatly mitigated due to the presence of Spica and Arcturus. Saturn Rx makes its way to the 24th degree of Libra May 1 and will remain in this zone, safe from the heat of the burning path, until June 7, just after the Venus Transit in Gemini.

Saturn Rx will then dip just slightly out of this safe haven zone (June 7 to July 12), though still within range of some of its benefits, stationing retrograde at 22 degrees Libra opposite discordant dwarf planet Eris in Aries on June 25.

The influence of Eris in Aries attempts to upset the apple cart as far as the hard-won relationship progress and standard-setting achieved so far during Saturn's transit of Libra. Don't get too cosy or complacent. Eris knows things aren't solid until they're solid, the show isn't over until it's over, and we can't count on current relational positions holding if Eris can find an in and kick anything up. Keep a stiff upper lip, diligently maintaining relational boundaries and standards, throughout the potentially discordant Saturn direct station.

Saturn re-enters fixed star safe haven territory in its final pass direct July 12 until August 17, when it moves off the 24th degree of Libra and beyond the conjunction to Arcturus.

There should be some lingering beneficial effects from the fixed star conjunctions into late August, when the North Node moves into Scorpio for a 1.5-year stay.

If we've been courageously battling our way head-on through the Saturnine Via Combusta gauntlet, we can experience a fixed star reprieve from the harshest heat of the battle here, a resting point.

- Venus Retrograde and Venus Transit in Gemini 2012: One Pentagram Completes As Another Is Begun -

As Venus in Gemini is the current dispositor of Saturn in Libra, its movement and activity greatly influence the successful meeting of Saturnine challenges over the next four months. The Venus in Gemini influence involves both a retrograde (May 15 - June 27) and a powerhouse astronomical/astrological event (June 5/6), so Venusian themes of love, relationship, values, money, art, and beauty are sufficiently humming.

Venus retrogrades occur every 18 months and involve, in part, a review and stock-taking of relationships, both past and present. This can involve relationships with anyone or anything.

During a Venus retrograde, prior relationships and/or relationship themes are completed and discharged (if we've done the work), and we enter a new relationship cycle. Decisions are often made during this time about the sustainability and desirability of our relationships - whether they have what it takes to move successfully into a new cycle or whether they should draw to a close along with the prior relationship cycle.

As the upcoming Venus retrograde through Gemini involves a Venus Transit - a fairly rare partial eclipse of the Sun by Venus - the relationship cycles ending and beginning are broad, powerful, and potentially all-encompassing.

Venus retrogrades cyclically in the same five areas of the zodiac in 8-year cycles, generally corresponding to the same five signs (Aries, Scorpio, Gemini, Capricorn, Leo), and traces a five-pointed star or pentagram in the sky with its movement. With this Venus retrograde and Venus Transit in Gemini, we form the fifth and final point in the pentagram that was begun in June 2004. We also simultaneously begin a new pentagram that will be completed in 2020.

We pick up the themes begun around June 2004 and reach a very magical point of integration and completion with the last Venus Transit most of us will experience in our lifetimes. Love floods the planet as Venus moves across the face of the Sun at perigee, the closest point in its orbit to Earth. Our hearts are recharged as we return to love, sweet love through the heat of the battles.

In immediate terms, we enter a new 18-month Gemini-flavoured relationship cycle that is discharged with the next Venus retrograde December 2013/January 2014 in Capricorn. Cycles within cycles - this is astrology.

To illustrate the Venus cycles, here are the patterns of retrograde:

March 1993 - Venus Rx in Aries
October 1994 - Venus Rx in Scorpio
May 1996 - Venus Rx in Gemini
December 1997 - Venus Rx in Aquarius/Capricorn
July 1999 - Venus Rx in Virgo/Leo

March 2001 - Venus Rx in Aries
October 2002 - Venus Rx in Scorpio
May 2004 - Venus Rx in Gemini
December 2005 - Venus Rx in Capricorn (from 1 degree Aquarius)
July 2007 - Venus Rx in Leo

March 2009 - Venus Rx in Aries
October 2010 - Venus Rx in Scorpio
May 2012 - Venus Rx in Gemini   ** current relationship cycle **
December 2013 - Venus Rx in Capricorn
July 2015 - Venus Rx in Leo (from 0 degrees Virgo)

March 2017 - Venus Rx in Aries
October 2018 - Venus Rx in Scorpio
May 2020 - Venus Rx in Gemini
December 2021 - Venus Rx in Capricorn
July 2023 - Venus Rx in Leo

The scales have also now been tipped to a stronger astrological Aquarian overlay, and in effect, this is the first Venus retrograde of the astrological Aquarian era, bringing many changes and much reorientation in relationship.

The position of Saturn at this time indicates that the movement and structural changes required during the Venus retrograde through Gemini will be blessed with a cosmic go-ahead and a certain ease, made less difficult by the influence of the highly fortunate fixed stars.

The third and final Grand Earth Trine involving Mars in Virgo and Pluto in Capricorn is also formed mid-May with the transit of Mercury - the new dispositor of Venus in Gemini - in Taurus. This Grand Earth Trine forming as Venus stations retrograde is another indicator that the changes and re-direction, particularly in relationship and money matters, are green-lighted and eased greatly by the aspects, so long as they're on the mark.

All this indicates a lighter 18-month relationship cycle than ones we have recently been through.

However, any matters left unresolved or unfinished in relationship will be drawn strongly to the forefront from mid-June through early July as Saturn in Libra slows, stations direct, and permeates the astro atmosphere with its themes. This particularly pertains to Neptunian illusions, delusions, mirages, karmic loops, and blind spots in love and relationship. Here, we get a flavour for any work remaining to truly cement relationship progress and new relational positions during the final leg of the Saturn transit through Libra.

Both Venus and Saturn station direct at the end of June within two days of each other as we move full speed ahead into the new relationship cycles.

As of October 5, 2012, Saturn completes the transit of the sign of its exaltation, Libra, and enters Via Combusta Scorpio, the sign of sex, death, regenerative healing, X-Ray vision, hardcore soul drive, and heavy, energy-processing metamorphosis. The Saturn transit of Via Combusta Scorpio culminates in a powerful Saturn-Venus-North Node conjunction at 8 degrees Scorpio September 2013. Saturn leaves the Via Combusta zone in November 2013, and it exits the sign of Scorpio completely September 2015.

More on the Via Combusta.
More on the previous Venus retrograde in Scorpio, now discharging.
More on the upcoming Venus Transit and Venus retrograde in Gemini.

Saturn Retrograde in Libra Opposite Sun in Aries and A Watched Pot Never Boils

From a previous post: "The Sun in Aries opposes Saturn Rx in Libra April 15, and the relationship re-structuring going on has to accommodate our whole blazing selves, or it might as well be scrapped."

This is the case, pretty babies, and there's no getting around it.

As the Sun in Aries pushes into an opposition to Saturn Rx at 26 degrees Libra April 15, the asteroid Vesta and true Black Moon Lilith placement form a conjunction at 23 degrees Aries, also opposing Saturn.

The soul-level investment here is in being ourselves and being true to ourselves within relationship right down to the last, rough edge. Honouring individuality beyond what the constructs of the relationships say. Honouring our fight and our scrappiness and our will to survive, even when those things are seemingly down to their last embers at this, the end of the astrological Piscean era.

This is the flame we won't let die. This is what we bank on. In Aries, our money's on us.

The investment here is in going deep into ourselves, loving every last secret corner where the shame, hatred, rage, grief, and deviation from the norm live. This is our fuel, what keeps us sharp, what edges the competition. Fighting for ourselves down to last breaths. Fighting to be true.

It's an investment in only those people and those relationships that can contain this version of you, the whole version - no fibs, no lies, no cheating around the edges. This is the exertion of whole self, all chambers firing, and we stretch right out into it with these oppositions. Standing up when we have to. Letting fly when we have to.

Black Moon Lilith and Vesta are here to make sure we don't compromise ourselves detrimentally one iota, that we don't try to squeeze ourselves into a relationship two sizes too small, that we don't attempt to dull any of our feisty edge or whitewash any of our colour as Saturn tries to convince us that we're running out of time, past our prime.

There is no moment but this moment, and every day, in every way, we're getting better, truer, stronger. This is what Black Moon Lilith and Vesta are whispering, together, in our ears as we bloom into weird and wild Aquarius. Invest in yourself, in this moment. This is the most important relationship you'll ever have.

The Aquarius Moon sextiles the Aries bodies/points and trines Saturn retrograde in Libra on April 15, the day of the Sun-Saturn opposition. We're willing to set ourselves apart, to risk it. It's the refusal to be anything but ourselves, the refusal to be dimmed or dulled that re-builds the world.

The Moon continues on its way, meeting Vesta in exact conjunction in late Aries April 20 with both bodies in exact opposition to Saturn Rx in Libra. The themes continue.

Saturn retrograde in Libra reminds us that, when it comes to relationships, a watched pot never boils. The worry and heaviness and sense of arduous delay brought to the topic of relationship by Saturn dissipates only when we're too busy doing our own thing to concern ourselves with it.

And all this Aries opposing gives us the perfect opportunity to stop watching. Stop waiting. Just go.

We're Pissed Off or Fine With Things, Irritated or Content, Aggravated or Accepting. Probably All at the Same Time.

The combination of the now-loosening Venus-Mars-Neptune mutable t-square, Pluto in Capricorn stationing retrograde (April 10), Mars in Virgo stationing direct (April 14), and Mercury traipsing through the last degrees of Pisces (until April 16) is making for some highly-strung, highly-changeable, and highly-odd astro conditions.

We can go from irritation to rage to despair to all-is-right-with-the-world to a chirpy, chatty phone conversation about monumental future plans in minutes flat.

Mars stationing direct opposite Neptune in Pisces has us dreaming, kicking up all kinds of oddness, and we can wake up enraged, floating, or paralyzed under the intensity of it all. Possibly all three or more.

This combination of stations and aspects is all over the place, and though we're certainly working with tension, friction, and frustration at this point, there's a lot of give here with all the mutable energy. This provides much-appreciated grease for the wheels as Lord of the Underworld Pluto permeates the skies with its inky influence and war/aggression planet Mars stops any progress in any direction, either forward or backward.

At this point, we just have to go with the weird while sort of continuing as if things are functional.

(Though I have to admit, all the internet problems I've been having over the past month have pushed me right to the brink.)

Pluto going retrograde in Capricorn provides a change in direction that brings us ever-closer to the first of the seven Uranus in Aries - Pluto in Capricorn squares, and, as of April 10, we start to feel the squeeze in earnest. Pluto is moving backward and Uranus is moving forward, on an inevitable course toward that initial square June 24.

Venus in Gemini is crossing the South Node currently, and excessive conversation - particularly certain topics of conversation with certain people - are to be avoided.

At the same time, Venus is sextile Uranus in Aries (exact April 9), and we split yet another set of relationship paradigm atoms on our way to the Venus Transit June 5. We shift from one relationship track to another repeatedly between now and then, but we have to continually choose something new.

The Sun in Aries opposes Saturn Rx in Libra April 15, and the relationship re-structuring going on has to accommodate our whole blazing selves, or it might as well be scrapped.

Keep paddling, little duckies.

Venus Enters Gemini, A New Relationship Cycle Begins, and Mutable Madness Permeates the Skies

Venus in Gemini April 3 to August 7, 2012
Venus in Gemini retrograde May 15 to June 27 from 23 degrees to 7 degrees
Venus Transit June 6, 2012 at 15 degrees

Venus entered mutable Gemini April 3, just before its new dispositor Mercury went direct in late Pisces early this morning (April 4).

Things are on the move - sort of.

What's really going to get the show on the road, though, is Mars going direct in mutable Virgo April 14 and Mercury leaving sign of its fall, Pisces, and re-entering Aries April 16. At that point, we go from a holding pattern with action planet Mars slowing to a stop in the zodiac opposite Neptune in nebulous Pisces to a small amount of forward movement that picks up steam by the end of the month.

As Mars in Virgo completes its nearly three-month retrograde period and stations direct, we almost imperceptibly shift to forward motion and gradually move along a more precise, intelligent, and effective trajectory. Our goals have been honed, refined, and defined through the Mars retrograde in Virgo and our skills sharpened. As of April 15, we start to put it all into practise.

We have to move carefully here, picking our way through subtly, masterfully, as Mars goes direct opposite Neptune. Mars-Neptune is a potentially nasty opposition that can bring injury, illness, and misfortune. Exactitude of action is key. If we aren’t hitting the Virgo precision marks as Mars goes direct, we’ll know it. The Mars-Neptune opposition will kick up chaos, annoyance, and oddness from all angles, and we’ll have a limited amount of time to get on track.

Love and relationship planet Venus entering Gemini, the airy, communicative sign of the twins, is also an important development.

Venus will retrograde in Gemini May 15 to June 27, and this indicates a shift in relationship cycles - one closes, another begins. Because the June 5 Sun-Venus interior conjunction in Gemini is also a Venus Transit, this shift in relationship cycles is profound and far-reaching. The upcoming Venus Transit acts as an official relational backdrop change between astrological eras. As of this event, we're no longer one foot in, one foot out. We officially move beyond Piscean-era relationship ideals and constructs and are propelled into the early stages of a new relationship paradigm - relating within the astrological Aquarian era. New tracks emerge that were previously unavailable. Relationships and we within relationship are not the same coming out of this June.

We start to move with this shift now as Venus begins its transit of Gemini, and the "whole new relationship ballgame" themes really start to dig in as of April 11/12.

At this point, as far as relationships go, we have to know better and put it into practise.

From a previous post: "The Venus Transit is an eclipse of the Sun by Venus during which we are able to observe Venus passing across the surface of the Sun as it orbits between the Sun and Earth. Astrologically, this event will be marked by a conjunction of the Sun and Venus retrograde at 15 degrees Gemini on June 5, 2012.

Venus Transits occur in pairs in the same sign, eight years apart (one Venus cycle), and they do not happen often. The last Venus Transit - the pair to this one - occurred June 8, 2004. The most recent Venus Transits prior to the 2004/2012 set occurred December 1874/1882 in Sagittarius. The next set will occur in December 2117 and 2125, also in Sagittarius.

Suffice it to say, it's a noteworthy event during our stay on planet Earth."

At the time of the June 5 interior conjunction to the Sun (the conjunction that occurs as Venus is retrograde), Venus will be at perigee, or at the closest distance to the Earth in its orbit. The benefic, love planet will be at the point of its strongest presence on this planet as warm waves of Venusian love and benevolence flood the energetic atmosphere, and we're recharged (and released) at the heart.

Whatever was begun around June 2004, at the time of the last Venus Transit in Gemini, reaches a culmination point now.

This is a truly magical astrological and astronomical event. Observe it this June 5/6 with wonder.

And there's even more reason to celebrate: as of the Venus Transit, the Via Combusta Scorpio relationship cycle we've been working with since September 2010 is officially complete, and we step into a new relationship cycle with new themes.

This new relationship cycle begins in earnest at the end of June as both Saturn in Libra (June 25) and Venus in Gemini (June 27) go direct and we experience the first of the seven Uranus in Aries - Pluto in Capricorn squares.

The Via Combusta Scorpio Venus cycle forced the experience, examination, and eventual clearing of deeply ingrained relationship patterns as a “clearing of the relational slate” ahead of this Venus Transit and Venus retrograde in Gemini.

This relationship cycle, in combination with Saturn transiting Libra, was trying, to say the least. Venus is in its detriment in Scorpio. Things cut a little too deeply and can get a little too in-your-face in that sign for the likes of social, beauty-loving Venus. Deep frictions, hurts, and grudges, carried through our ancestral and spiritual lines, were triggered and often brought to an explosive head during this cycle, which reached back to 2002, 1994, 1986, etc.

In Via Combusta Scorpio, we were working with themes of power in relationship, domination/subjugation, abuse – both subtle and blatant, betrayal, bullshit, misuses of energy - particularly sexual, emotional authenticity and the lack thereof, ancestral patterns, rage that comes from the root, and some often-unpleasant “soul mate” work. Heavy stuff.

Our relationships and we within them were in a state of deep metamorphosis, and it wasn’t always pretty. Beauty to beast. Beast to beauty.

The distance between what people were really feeling in relationship and what they were putting forth as fa├žade created breaks along relationship fault lines during this cycle – pressurized further by Saturn forcing us to get real in and through relationship – and people found they just couldn’t pretend anymore.

Before the regeneration and resurrection, Scorpio involves splits, endings, and deaths. Though painful, the Venus in Scorpio cycle worked to clear our lives of relationship dead weight – relationships that would not sustain and fulfill over the long-term - while drawing attention to our own unhealthy relating patterns.

Scorpio is a sign of alchemical reactions designed to deepen, purify, cleanse, vitalize, authenticate, and metamorphose. Having those alchemical reactions, often out of our control, in relation to another person or people is generally not comfortable territory.

We were eking out the conditions for true soul-level compatibility, removing the influence of all the rest, and it wasn’t an easy cycle.

So we’ve been digging around in the Scorpionic relational muck and mire for a year-and-a-half now, and the healing period catalyzed through the vehicle of relationship is drawing to a close.

Our relational flavour now shifts from deep, dark, internalized Scorpio with all its complexity, intricacy, and metaphysical exploration to a much lighter, breezier, and more social sign – Gemini. We move from water to air, reach the surface, and get some breathing room.

The focus turns from purging relations to making connections, from soul-divining to networking, from the traversing of emotional and psychological shitstorms to friendly, daily communication.

The move of Venus into masculine/yang Gemini releases us from the often heavy feminine/yin Scorpionic relational territory and sets our sights on more movement, interaction, networking, and social cross-pollination.

It’s just lighter, and that comes as a relief.

At the same time, we had better hope we did our Venus in Via Combusta Scorpio work well, that we finished everything we could finish, severing ties to detrimental relationship patterns, constructs, and people and gaining the valuable perspective both scorpion and eagle bring us. Saturn in Scorpio (October 2012 to September 2015) is going to be testing and challenging us on every last bit of unfinished business there. It will be looking for every etheric tendril still connected to someone, something, or some situation we should have said goodbye to, and we'll deal with the consequences of staying attached.

The territory of the Gemini-flavoured Venus cycle puts a focus on relationships with siblings, with our local neighbourhoods, with society, with media, and with modes of transportation. We can expect these to be major themes over the next year-and-a-half as our societies undergo major change.

New ideas about urban planning and transportation will be put into practical action - many, unfortunately, with the ulterior motive of controlling populations. New societies and associations will form. Long-stymied connections will be solidified.

Daily communication skills within relationship will be a major focus, both verbal and non-verbal.

This Venus cycle indicates more movement of ideas and of people, and networks formed as the internet proliferated our societies come into full, practical function as we enter both Mars (Virgo) and Venus (Gemini) cycles disposited by Mercury.

This is a much lighter, more sociable Venus placement. Relationships don’t hurt so much here. There's less complexity. Love is more a matter of the mind, of the intellect. The crystallized issues that existed under the Venus in Scorpio overlay dissipate almost magically in some cases. Gemini is not a sign that attaches, and it’s easier to move on. A flowing social quality comes strongly into play. People find speaking and writing skills attractive and seek to utilize their own. Those who can sharply and effectively use humour, social satire, or parody to illustrate the manipulations and delusions of our times will be popular.

Gemini is a sign that can hold dual or multiple realities at the same time without cracking under the strain. The transit of Venus through Gemini and subsequent cycle assist people in navigating the ever-widening spaces between mainstream, consensus versions of reality and what's really going on. The continued spread of information outside the mainstream folds creates a sort of critical mass under this transit.

Media deconstruction and criticism become highly important as people struggle to gain perspective beyond the constructs of media and social commentary - both of the dominant paradigm and of controlled opposition/gate-keeping. Tone and non-verbal cues will often be more important for understanding intent than the spoken words.

The persuasive effects of oratory will be used to move the people under this Venus cycle, and people will be challenged to stay their own courses.

With the sign of the twins, dual and multiple natures rule. Venus in Gemini is a placement with the potential for two-faced, master manipulation, and it will be difficult to put our fingers on this. The manipulative, duplicitous twin stands behind the people-pleasing, silver-tongued twin showing off and juggling for the crowd, always influential, always persuasive.

Flaws of character previously hidden will come out in social realms, as the talk proves cheap. It will be our Mars in Virgo duty to notice and grab hold of the fishy details before Gemini rolls them under again with a trick of the tongue. The strong influence of Mars in Virgo over the next two years, squaring Venus in Gemini, indicates that the fight is to pin down and analyze the real effects of the words, finding the holes that quick-talking Gemini would prefer to gloss over. This will be tricky, as people won't want to be pinned down, but Mars in Virgo has the capacity to tunnel through bluster and verbiage to what's really being said, what's really being suggested, puncturing style over substance and lip service over reality.

It will be difficult to know where one stands with others, at times, and even more difficult to know what we ourselves need and want in relationship as we move into this whole new relationship ballgame.

The impression of Venus in Scorpio is still with us, though, and it is meaningful connections we're after throughout this Venus in Gemini cycle. An exchange of words that gets things done. Light connections that have deeper, underlying roots.

We're looking for relationships so natural and communication so facile that it is as if two twins were interacting, different but with a connection so inherent, it could not be denied. Venus in Gemini puts a focus on the importance of the relationships with siblings or with people who feel like kin in this way.

Mutable Energy Dominates April to August 2012, Kicked Off by a Venus-Mars-Neptune Mutable T-Square April 5-7

Venus entering mutable Gemini means we now have a predominance of changeable, adjustable, malleable energy in the astrological atmosphere, and this mutable energy dominates into early August.

We're entering two new, mutable-flavoured cycles with Mars (goals, action, will, direction) in Virgo and Venus (relationships, needs, values, money) in Gemini.

Neptune is also in mutable Pisces, and Venus, Mars, and Neptune form a mutable t-square April 5-7, ramping up the head-spinning themes. As it occurs with Mars stationing direct, the energy and challenges of this highly transitional t-square energy are carried strongly into the following two-year goal cycle. Expect almost continual change, both gradual and dramatic, and it's up to us to stay on top of it, heading off the tendencies to be blindsided when situations or people are not as solid or stable as they appeared.

“Mutable” basically means “transitional,” and stakes are being pulled up on a number of fronts as we move through major transition this spring and early summer.

A predominance of mutable energy can create chaos, ineffectiveness, and confusion, and Mars will have its work cut out for it keeping things in some semblance of practical Virgoan order. Everyone will have to keep a close eye on anxiety and stress levels within this state of flux.

With this much mutable energy at play, the goals are to stay loose, stay fluid, stay adaptable, and keep making practical progress wherever and whenever you can. Things might not go as planned, but acting and reacting keenly to subtle changes from moment-to-moment keeps us in the game.

Things are brought to a fevered, mutable pitch throughout May and June with two New Moons in Gemini at zero and 28 degrees along with a Sagittarius Full Moon at 14 degrees. Adding to the instability, the May 20 zero degree Gemini New Moon and the June 4 Sagittarius Full Moon are eclipses.

The Venus-Mars-Neptune mutable t-square April 5-7 early in the signs re-formulates at the Sagittarius Full Moon eclipse June 4 as an off-the-charts in potency mutable t-square. This is a one-two punch as the Sagittarius Full Moon partial lunar eclipse within mutable t-square formation falls June 4, followed by the Venus Transit.

At the time of the June 4 Full Moon, the Sagittarius Moon opposes the Sun in Gemini, with Venus in Gemini closing in its conjunction and Mercury also in Gemini. Mars in Virgo, now direct, will be forming a tight t-square with the bodies in Sagittarius and Gemini. The North Node will be in Sagittarius, and the South Node will be in Gemini. Chiron and Neptune will be in Pisces. This is every personal planet (Sun, Moon, Mercury, Venus, Mars) in mutable signs, along with Chiron and Neptune.

Anything can happen. Everything is in motion at this point, whether it appears to be.

Venus-Mars Square Series

Feminine Venus and masculine Mars form three squares between April 7 and September 27, two in mutable Gemini and Virgo and one in fixed Leo and Scorpio. The masculine principles are squaring off with the feminine principles over the next six months, and this creates friction both internally and in relationship. There is some difficulty reconciling what we want (Mars) with what we need (Venus), as these things are at times vastly different and keep changing.

Relating to other people under this much mutable energy can be challenging as plans change dramatically and people change their minds under new frictions. The social juggling aspects of Gemini will be put to full use during the transit of Venus through the sign.

As Venus and Mars are personal rather than transpersonal planets, this square friction is apparent in our personal lives and in our personal relationships.

As Venus in Gemini will be square Mars in Virgo June 4 and during the Venus Transit, the frictional, clashing, dynamic square energy colours our newly emerging relationship cycle strongly.

You didn't think we were getting off that easily, did you?

How to Get (And Keep) a Man, Zodiac-Style

Ladies, if you want to get yourselves a man, I’m going to let you in on a little secret: it’s as easy as the subtle manipulation of his Venus sign! Venus is what he loves, see, and if you want him to love you forever and ever, just keep hitting the old Venus spot.

We all know that once you’ve gotten yourself a man, the next trick is holding onto him. The beautiful thing about Venus is: it’s also a key to keeping him!

Just use these simple tricks of the astrological trade, and the days of crying your lonely, single ass to sleep every night will be OVER!

Venus in Aries: Go out and shoot yourself a buck. Anything over a four-point should do. Strap it to the roof of your car. If you can borrow a Jeep, Bronco, or Hummer, even better. Grab a couple six packs of his favourite brew, and drive over to his place with your rifle in the back seat to show off your kill.

Venus in Taurus: Talk about money a lot. Make it clear how important it is to you. Leave copies of your credit card statements lying around to show him how high your credit limit is. Get involved in the newest hedge funds, and brag about the returns. Talk about how you dumped currency and bought metals.

Venus in Gemini: To keep him interested, never answer his calls or texts right away. Leave them for a few days if you really want to get him hot and bothered. Talk about all the other messages you’re fielding to prove how uber connected and in demand you are. “Accidentally” send him an ambiguous text meant for some other guy just to keep him guessing.

Venus in Cancer: The key to this man’s heart is all about emulating his Mama! Look at old pictures of his Ma when she was your age, and subtly copy her style. Dress like she did. Do your hair and make-up like she did. Meet him every day after work with lipstick on, an adoring smile, and a plate of chocolate chip cookies still warm from the oven.

Venus in Leo: Buy paintings from local artists and prominently hang them to show what a big supporter you are of the local art scene. Take him to performance art pieces and poetry night at the local pub, even if you don't like it, to show him how artsy you are. Try out for a local theatre troupe, even if calling your acting skills “wooden” would be charitable. Show off your star power. Of course, it goes without saying that a lady should never outshine her man. He’s the real star here, and the more you keep that in mind, the more in love he’ll be!

Venus in Virgo: Hire a housecleaner to come in and covertly clean your apartment to an immaculate shine before each of his visits. Strip your bed (in front of him) and wash the sheets in hot water after every time you do the deed. Casually mention that you floss three times a day. Buy a top-of-the-line juicer. Hide junk food, and fill your refrigerator with leafy greens.

Venus in Libra: Make it known how in-demand socially you are by constantly talking about all the fascinating, cultured, and hip people who want to hang with you. Make it difficult for him to schedule a date into your almost-frantic social calendar. Call and re-schedule a few times to drive home the point. Leave a subtle impression that he wasn’t your first choice for a Saturday night.

Venus in Scorpio: The key here is continually proving what a hardcore freak you are in the sack. Leave whips, handcuffs, chains, and ball gags lying around your apartment – not just in the bedroom! Maybe put a cage up. Mirrors on the ceiling, a video camera set up near the bed, and a stripper pole are de rigeur.

Venus in Sagittarius: What’s really going to do it for this guy is making it known how much freedom you need in relationships. Don’t worry if it isn’t true – by the time he figures out the real story, he’ll be hooked on you! Talk about your plans to study philosophy in Paris, and make it known that he shouldn’t wait around. Do some speed research on wine, and talk about how you’ve always wanted to take a trip to wine country to experience the great whites and reds.

Venus in Capricorn: The key to this guy’s heart is in showing him how impressive and upwardly-mobile you are. Talk about how you’re crushing your competition at work. Brag about how much your boss loves you. Repeat the basic points of your Five Year Plan like a mantra every morning, and make sure he can hear you.

Venus in Aquarius: Here, it's all about making it clear to him how outside the box you are. Throw a vegan, soy-free potluck and invite all the freakiest people you know. Talk about alternative working models and the suppression of Tesla technology. Ride a community-owned bicycle to get around, even if you have been a staunch car driver up until then. Dye your hair pink or purple. Get a septum ring.

Venus in Pisces: The key here is in proving your superiour spiritual development. Talk about your dreams a lot, and make them seem really symbolic and profound. Talk about the multi-dimensional experiences you’ve had, and make it clear that you can’t really be bothered with the concerns of the material world. Name drop a couple gurus, and work the popular spiritual catch phrases of the day into casual conversation.

Work these Venus tips, ladies, and you will go from sad and lonely single to ecstatic and loved-up couple in no time!
